Don't think it works that way. You would still be drawing water through the drive unless your kit has a check valve. I'm told the OEM kit does not have the check valve.

Check out Hurley Marine. I have the H2o kit on my 280 Sundancer. If had a 310 I would add extended platform. Greatly increases the function of the stern at anchor.

Correct. Anything newer than 4.3 will not allow overlay.

Correct. You can download and install v4.3 and get that feature back.

If you c series has the software version 4.29 or 4.30 then yes it will work. Just make sure you don't install the latest updates or you lose that functionality.

My charts show good depth south of the vineyard. The north side has more channel markers and is probably more scenic and more forgiving on a windy day since you have land to either side. I have done both routes but was on a sailboat at the time. I don't recall depth being an issue on either...
