    2005 390 W 5.9LC QSB Gearbox Running Hot

Good Evening Again, THANK YOU for taking the time to reply! My starboard gearbox was running 350 PSI with a temp of 111 degrees. My port gearbox was running 114 PSI with a temp of 199 degrees, which triggered the alarm. This was an odd occurrence as its run perfectly for the 6 years I've...

    2005 390 W 5.9LC QSB Gearbox Running Hot

Good Evening, I just had an identical experience with my 05 390. What was diagnosis and fix for your high temp alarm and low gear pressure? I’m hesitant to call Cummins until I’m positive the repair is above my means! Thanks in advance for your time!

I read a past post that indicated an aftermarket baffle is available for the rear port and stbd vents for around $225/ea. Definitely recaulk the vent covers while installing new baffles. If shrink wrap is no longer available, heated, indoor storage is how we do it here in Michigan. You don't...

We usually just shut it down and keep it mopped up until all the ice has melted. Just make sure to keep the water out of the corner closest to the step, thats where you see a lot of them turning black with mold.

We are in Florida now, not going to Saug. Hind sight is always 20 20 but I wish I had brought your boat to Florida but thought it would be worth more in fresh water. Turns out I could get about 20K more now then I sold it for in 2013 especially as pristine as it was. Enjoy! The guy you sold it...

You were very correct! The metal condenser pan rusted and fouled up the opening to the drain hose that leads to the salon bilge pump. I snaked out all ac condenser lines, cleaned fore & mid condenser pans, then cleaned out the sump crock and pump. Everything is finally flowing outward! Thanks...

Hello All, Last weekend we started getting a serious water leak in the salon. It seems to be coming from under the fridge area and running around the front of the bottom step then down into the aft cabin. I found 3" of water in the bottom of the aft cabin bilge. Anyone had this happen yet...

    39 Sundancer - 2004 vs 2005/06 Differences

The #1 improvement next to the updated electronics is fiberglass stringers. Buy an 05 or newer for that reason alone!

Air was installed in our cockpit the year before we bought our boat. Make sure they run the condensation line to the shower sump, and not the bilge, like the guys did in our installation. My first project of 2018 will be to correct this problem. Nothing is more frustrating than the constant...

If you had to pick a Great Loop boat....

Check out the Beneteau Swift Trawler. We traveled up the Missippi from Alabama to Michigan and saw many of them, in all sizes, along the way. Very cool boat!

Searay 390/40 or Cruisers Yacht 405/415?

My wife & I couldn't be happier with our 2005 390! Once you have a hardtop you'll never go back. The front windshield panels zip out allowing full ventilation. As far as the swim platform goes, its huge! We have (2) 80# Springers that swim off of it with ease. Ours has Cummins 380's that...

Hello All, I'm having problems with my helm windlass controls. Is the power switch on the left supposed to remain on when toggled down or is it a press and hold type? I ordered a replacement and was sent a MOM switch (momentary-on-momentary) that needs to be held down in order to use the toggle...

Hi Rob, I believe I found them behind the aft cabin closet. On my 2005 390, there is an access panel screwed to the rear wall of the closet. Once inside I found the drip pan for the galley AC unit and a small access to the port through hulls. Not sure if it will be the same on a 2010 but...

Hello Fellow 390 Owners! I recently purchased a 2005 390 and have no less than 278 questions to ask. Here goes #1: My anchor toggle switch at the helm only allows me to drop the anchor, not retrieve it. Is this a safety feature or is my toggle switch broken? My foot pedals on the bow allow...

    Wanted! 390/400 sundancer

Dan, I highly recommend you abandon that thought process. This past Monday I flew out to Stoney Point, NY (salt water) to inspect a 2006 I had a signed PA on. Needless to say, it didn't come close to passing the visual inspection and had a snowballs chance in Hell of making it through survey...
