I'm replacing the arm with a slightly longer one. Current setup is 19.5" arm with 18" blade. Hoping I can add an inch or so to each measurement to improve visibility without asking too much of the stock wiper motor...
Great job... I'm impressed you were able to do that yourself. Electronics is not my forte! As an aside, I wouldn't even know what constitutes a normal PSI for my transmissions... Should it vary with RPM or remain constant?
I have an '02 340da with 8.1's and swing 18x22 three blades. We have the same hull, so you've probably got the clearance for 18" diameter - but I have no idea what pitch you need.
Btw, I would love to see engine room pics and performance data for a diesel 340!
Thanks for the additional info, Frank. I'm jealous that you guys have such a slick operation with such a competent Marina owner/operator. Guys like that are worth their weight in gold...
Great ideas so far. As others have mentioned, in addition to basic tools, I carry light line, assorted hose clamps, tape, stainless fasteners, a few pieces of wire, butt connectors, wire ties, and assorted hose and tapered wooden plugs. 12v test light is cheap and a great addition. A small...
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to remove the wiper arms on my '02 340DA. There's no set screw or other obvious way to get them off. Here's a pic (I hope... if I figured out the Photobucket thing). Can anyone help?
Thanks!
I had the Nicro solar fan on my last boat (35' sailboat). Worked great!! Never leaked a drop in hard rain and heavy spray. Have already thought about adding one to my Sea Ray....
These also seem to work well:

Yup... bottom paint will throw off moisture meter readings. Additionally, several surveyors have told me that black paint throw them off more than other colors (no idea why)...
Really looking forward to the trip home. I'm planning to go through NYC and LI Sound... More options for fuel and places to duck in if the weather gets nasty.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. The boat is an '02... just updated my profile info. AFD - I hope to be able to stop by the show this weekend - probably on Sat. Need to get my dock key too :smt001
Here are some pics of the new boat:
I closed this past Saturday on my new 340DA... very excited! Spent the weekend aboard familiarizing myself with the boat and fixing a few odds and ends that the survey turned up. Boat is in NJ now - stay tuned for updates when I bring her north to Boston Ina couple of weeks. Can't figure out...
