When i have registered my boats (ct and fl) they gave be docunentation on where to put it. I have only seen on the bow, port and stbd, but that may not be that way in all states.
I would do a internet search and find out.
How is your router hooked into power? Are you using the factory ac/dc adapter or are you hooked straight into your 12v system?
Normally just need to have an appropiate fuse or breaker to prevent the over amperage issue.
Took her out today, at first she wouldnt go into neutral unless i shifted past neutral.
Made more adjustments, finally got it to shift right, with very minimul grinding, if any.
Just need to play with arm on switch, i think its closing abit too soon. Engine almost dies, but i think i can tweek...
Made adjustments to the shift cable, prop is fully engaged at proper points, but still getting some grinding when going into fwd and reverse. Doing some more reading it looks like this might be normal if boat is outof water on muffs? Boat has always done this since bought her, doesnt mean its...
Ok. Reading many different posts, and how to's it seems that i need to adjust my shift cables. I also have been having some grinding when shifting from fwd to reverse, and vice versa.
Guess thatsva project for tomorrow.
I have a 120 mercruiser. On top of the engine, attached to the throttle cables there is a plastic V, that a microswitch hits on. If the switch rolls up on the top of the v, it kills the engine. Normally i dont have a problem, but occasionally it happens.
So what is the purpose of this switch...
I dont have alot of experience with different antennas, but i would say the quality of the radio would make the most difference.
For mounting the antenna, i like mount it by the helm and fold it back. If you mount it aft, would it interfere with people getting in and out?
ICOM makes good radios, but you would need an external gps antenna, which you would need for the chart plotter anyways, unless you go with the new Simrad that has an internal gps.
For antennas, Shakespeare makes s 6225 that is 8' and also decent. Talking with captains i have installed them on...
The best location for the compass is lowest point in the boat, near center as possible. Rocking of the boat will cause slight deviations in course.
All the electronics will cause the compass not to read properly, so the best bet would be to look for other cable/hose runs and run the cable that...
A few weeks ago was Getting mh 170 br ready to take out. I had the mufflers on and raised the outdrive fully and heard some "clacking" from the outdtive, lowered it abit and the noise went away.
Didnt think much of it....
Fast foward a week later, long story short, needed s jump on the water, sea...
I have used the garmin gpsmap 640. Pretty easy to set up.
Not familiar with the raymarine version.
Either one would work for your needs. Mainly its just you prefer.
Not sure why your cable is so short, i just installed one the other week and it had a 5 ft cable.
Maybe an earlier model.
Whats the problem mounting it in the cubby?
Do you already have th MS-BT200?
It comes with a 5 ft cable with a range of approx 30ft.(give or take)
It might take some creativity to mount the module, but i would think that would be enough?
Ive mounted them before on larger boats with no real "dead spots".
Works really well.
