I have a battery issue with my 2004 200 Sea Ray Select 5.0 MPI. My battery discharges when the boat is not in use and the battery switch is turned to the off position. This is a single battery set up and the switch is a simple on/off selector with only two positions; on or off. I have not...
The risers, manifolds, and elbows were replaced last year on a 2005 as part of regular maintenance. That seems odd to me. That is a lot of work on a 4-5 year powerplant. There may have been some other reason for this work that could be related to your current problem. I would ask more questions...
I had an imperller fail on an OMC. In my case, the failure was in the drive shaft that connected to the impeller. The shaft broke so no water was moving through outdrive to the engine. Since the water temperature probe had no water surrounding it, the probe didn't begin to register higher than...
Good point but he mentioned Lake Cumberland and I don't believe you can lock between the Cumberland River and the lake so if he is going use Lake Cumberland he'll have a slip in a marina or trailer the thing. Yikes!
My brother-in-law purchased a sail boat in Louisville in 2002 and my wife and...
Louisville, huh!
Well, hope you join us.
The Ohio is a good body of water to boat on. Lots of large boats and good trips and good marinas.
Lake Cumberland is a lot of fun. From Louisville it is about 2 1/2 hours south. It is a big deep lake with good places to explore. They are having a...
Please post more information about your boat like engine make and size.
If this is an OMC you might be having a problem with the main fuse located near the shift mechanism on the engine. You will see a large in-line fuse holder with a large fuse (50 amp, I believe). Replace it even if it...
I don't mean to hijack this thread but the topic of taxes on boats purchased in one state and licensed in another is of interest to me.
In Kentucky there is an exemption from the Use Tax. It is called an Occasional Sale. When a boat is purchased from an out of state seller, the use tax can...
I'm not sure you have removed all the bolts.
There are two on each side and one in the front behind the anode and one in the rear, under the anode.
I believe there are six bolts in total.
I've had both an OMC and a Mercruiser. The outdrives seals are different for the two units. OMC does seal the upper and lower unit with an interior seal around the case between the upper had lower parts of the outdrive. Mercuriser seals internal passages.
With my OMC the outdrive impeller...
This must be a very closely kept secret of Sea Ray and Mercury. I cannot find anything in my Sea Ray Owners Manual or my Mercruiser #31 Service Manual.
I guess they don't want to stuck their necks out on this simple question that an owner would want to know.
Anyway, my 5.0 runs in the 170 to...
Here is a link to a site that has trailer harness wiring diagrams:
http://www.accessconnect.com/trailer_wiring_diagram.htm
Are you sure the trailer has an electric reverse lock out for the surge brakes? Some trailers offer that as an option, not standard equipment.
I would begin by checking...
Is it CRS Board policy to give out members email addresses to advertisers or sponsors?
I got an email solicitation from NBOA and I can think of only one place they could have gotten that information...from CSR.
Just curious.
I was recently working on my sterndrive and pulled up the Stern Drive Gen II Service Manual 14. On page 3B-6 there is schematic of the gear case with numbers corresponding to a legend on page 3B-7. Beginning with part #22 the parts are mislabeled.
I do have a hard copy service manual that I am...
OK.
Forget what I said about capitalism. It does not exist. If the government will bailout a failed private business we are a socialist society.
Long live socialists...long live the greedy...long live the republicans.
AIG rocks. Life is good.
45 mph with gusts 70 to 80 mph.
What is remarkable is that the gusts are coming every 2 - 3 minutes. I have never heard more trees crack and break over such a long period of time. It looks like most of the wind is gone now but this kept up for four solid hours.
Now the sound of chain saws...
