I have the same problem. I found that turning off the ignition switches and then the keys will prevent any gage issues. If you have a problem turning off the solenoid switches in the control panel seems to be an adequate reset (without engines running).
Ok, the problem was a stuck thermostat. It took a while to figure out, not a bad job to fix if your careful. I spent some time getting all the air out of the system, but it works like a champ! Unfortunately we are scheduled for a haul out on 10/27 for winter. ugh :(
I have a Kohler 7.3E Gen set in my 380 Sundancer. It quits running after about 10 minutes (basically when it reaches operating temp). Restarting after It cools down for a few minutes results in a shutdown after a minute or so. The oil level is full, good water flow out the exhaust and the...
I need to replace the mattress in the v-berth of our 380 Sundancer. Does anyone have experience using 4'' or 6'' memory foam and cutting your own shape verses buying a replacement factory mattress? We sleep on the boat about 50 nights per season, so comfort and durability is important. Never...
Isopropyl Alcohol works without hurting the vinyl. It takes a couple of days and a couple of applications to completely disappear (from my experience).
In the Chesapeake bay/Eastern Shore area and inlets they mark oyster beds and hold the screens in place, usually in rows, always in shallow water, skiffs are used in these areas so not to find the bottom the hard way. If in a straight single line they are fish traps. You don't see very many...
Make sure both main battery solenoids are turned on all the time your engines are running. Your gages will not work if either the port or starboard solenoids are off respectively, alternator damage can also occur. Jeff
So....most Friday evening's my wife and I tie up on the "wall" (boat launch and good restaurant there) and eat dinner on the boat. It's fun watching the boats come and go and it's usually a relaxing time before we get a sunset cruise on the lake. Well last week was awesome. We had ordered...
I'm laughing so hard and can barely breathe. My wife and I have done the 38 step launch many times, it sounds so bad when you list it!!! A "launch Ramp" reality show would be so awesome.
We carry a well stocked First Aid Kit and my Wife and kids know where to find it and what to do in the case of a first aid need or an emergency. Our most common injuries are from friends not being as familiar around boats as we are (slip and falls due to moving carelessly and forgetting they...
We have a bunch of blankets onboard, nothing fancy. Anything that helps get time on the boat..........I'm all for it! Ignore the rude comments and do what you need to enjoy time boating with your wife.
We had water in our forward bilge, torn membrane in our fresh water pump. It was a slow leak but much more obvious when water was called for. The color could be just dirt picked up from the compartments it flows through. A new pump fixed it, there are also repair kits for most pump models...
