I agree. I don't think the original design was the greatest anyway but without original templates, it's unlikely a canvas maker could match up replacement sections so it looks like a whole new canvas set is going to be needed.

After replacing the tilt helm with a new unit, the steering is a lot stiffer as there is no play from the helm unit but there is still some movement due to the rack. I think hawkerjim's hydraulic solution is the way to go for me. cheers David
