Thanks a lot! I have decided against this one since it needs too much work on the cosmetics dept.
i'll keep looking for a Sundeck 190 in the $10k range for now.
thanks again,

Hello all,
I have sold my 2002 Sundancer 280 last week since the blonde and I decided we need to cut down our expenses (indoor marina, insurance etc). Plus, it helped that I was able to get exactly what I wanted for it.
now I'm looking at a temp boat and found this 99 Sundeck 190 which caught...
Right!
And make sure to lookup the IAC on Rockauto.com
You'll have to get the .90 cents mufflers from a marine store, but you'll be saving tons on the IACs.
Unplug harness, remove 2 bolts, pull IAC up.
Reverse steps for install.

Seafoam is a great fuel stabilizer, and the best carbon build-up remover I have ever used on cars, bikes and the boat.
Only thing is, it works best at WOT which is rarely the case with boats.

Where would you keep it?
Canada or Mexico?
Maybe a good idea to rent one for a day and make sure you will get the enjoyment you expect?
I'm a classic and exotic car exporter, and a true car guy. Having had the chance to drive some of the coolest cars available, I wouldn't want to own one due to...
If you end up considering the 280, my 2002 with twin 4.3's is plenty roomy for 4 adults to spend the weekend out on the hook and tons of power too.
You will need to watch your freshwater as 28gallons is just not enough for a boat that was advertised to sleep 6.
As far as the twin 4.3's, I can...
After getting engines up to temps, I will taste samples of the water until there's no more salt.
Lots of times I get back to the marina after the forklift guys are gone, but I have a deal with one guy who will flush my engines every time the boat comes out of the water, and he uses the same...
My boat is dry-stored and I usually turn the A/C on as soon as the the gen is running, and that's usually while at the marina before we leave.
Never had a problem due to restricted water flow. This is an interesting topic, I will do more research on that

When it shuts down, do you get a message on the panel such as HI PS ?
I had the same thing happen to me while at Bayside Marina in Miami. After cleaning the strainer (which didn't require much cleaning) to no avail, I noticed the red reverse polarity light on my DC panel was lit up.
I wiggled...
2002 280DA
I run my GAS gennie all day/night while on the hook, except:
- while underway, unless my boy needs to take a nap, then I run it for the A/C
- while rafted up to another boat on my starboard
That being said, I have 3 CO monitors: 1 factory built in and 2 battery-operated: leave one...
Hello and welcome aboard!
I don't have Smartcraft so I can't be of any help there, but as far as your trim drive and tabs...you should be able to hear them go an and down. Also, gave someone stand on the dock and watch them work.
Have you found the secret compartment yet?! :)

He surveyed the engines and genny on my boat prior to my purchasing it.
Very knowledgeable, straight-forward guy.
Btw - I have the same engines and drive setup you have

A while back in the 280DA thread someone mentioned a CG boat damaged the blower cover on his 280 and a new unfinished replacement from MM was around $800
I hope you can find a used one in good condition
