Interesting discussion as we are in between boats, and considering an RV as well which allows us to follows kids in college, tailgating at games, and use most of the year vs. 5 months of comfortable boating here in the east.
without having done a detailed analysis, seems annual operating costs...
nice looking boat. should sell quickly this spring.
I sold my '11 260 DA last fall and am currently boatless - still keeping up with this forum and reading daily while I figure out my next move.
Thanks!
Would like to start my search soon so it's time to sell .its been a great boat .
Have not narrowed down on my next boat quite yet ...looking now .
Check out the Used Sea Ray forum..
Just listed my 260DA in hopes of moving up
this is a great entry level cruiser and someone is going to get an immaculate boat at a great price.
Thanks to all on this site for keeping me addicted to Sea Rays!
Really have to disagree with this opinion.
I boat in some choppy water and sometimes angry water on the bay - lots of current / tides/ short wave period. Took me maybe 1-2 weeks practice using the tabs when the boat was new to feel comfortable.
its a great ride while on plane and only need...
Really like our 260 -you get a lot of bang for your buck in this boat .
Would not add the bow thruster but AC and windless are a must
Get the 350 mag -plenty of power .
We don't have a generator and don't miss it -just plug in .
Cabin is well equipped and fine for 2 adults and a small child for...
Quick update - installed new ball/ shaft kit - new seal new vacuum switch on tank and problem seems to be solved. likely culprit was vacuum loss through shaft running from pedal to half ball. hopefully this will hold - definitely noticed all silicone grease gone on old O rings on shaft and...
Make sure you plan 1 evening at the Tides Inn on the Rappahanock... beautiful resort/ great food and pool/nice floating docks. a little pricier but its all top -rate. Always lots of nice Sea Rays and other yachts there on the weekends to admire as well!
Urbanna Town Marina is nice and clean as...
Thanks for all the feedback again!
I also called and troubleshot with Dometic and Northeast Sanitation this am.
They are thinking ball valve shaft O Rings because I can slow / stop the hissing sound by manipulating the foot pedal sideways - anyway- ordered that replacement kit, new toilet...
sure did..cleaned it very good and seemed to be in good shape.
certainly probably a good spot to start with replacing the bowl seal and could eliminate that if it does not solve the problem.. just seems unusual that would be causing a pressure loss with no water leaving the bowl.
As always thanks for the great advice here, in advance.
260DA - 2011 vacuflush system very LIGHTLY used for 3 years since boat was purchased new. liquids only!
system starts up great, pulls great pressure after running less than a minute. vacuum pump will then continue to cycle every 1-2...
Anyone with a 260DA come up with a good idea/ substitute for a bow/sunpad that stores relatively easy?
I am not even sure if a bowpad was on option when purchased. Admiral needs something more comfortable then just throwing a beach towel up there!
thanks in advance!
