Not on my boat but I did have a similar issue on my 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix in the early 1980's, the damage it created when it came apart was bad. I would check to see if the bolt holding it in is loose, might need to be tightened. Some are pressed on though.
On my boat in St. Louis, I use an RCA multi-directional flat digital antenna that I picked up at Walmart. It comes with coax and amplifier, works fantastic and very easy to install. It was less than $30 and works great. Actual size is about 1/4" thick, 8"X11".
