Big believer in Catenary Effect. Last two boats had all chain rode. Aside from a little extra cost, I can't see a downside and would never go back to a rope or mixed rode.

Great info guys. Much appreciated. Which of these marinas would be the most fun? Bars, restaurants, live music, pools, etc?

Normally I wouldn't be terribly concerned but I've got ips pods. The last thing I want to do is damage one of those damn things. I'd prefer to do all the research I can before we go, IF we go. Is the Toms River deeper? I would stay upriver and just see the family for a couple dinners. I'm not...
I have family staying in Seaside Park for the 4th of July weekend and they asked us to come down with the boat for the weekend. I've never been in the Bay here, only passed by out in the ocean. My boat is roughly 50' and draws about 52" fully loaded. Is there anywhere we can stay? Is there...
I've owned an aluminum hull AB as well as numerous fiberglass hull RIB's. One thing to be Aware of is that the published weights for many of the boats are completely incorrect, especially the aluminum models. So if you're looking at aluminum to save weight, do your homework.

I recently purchased an AB Mares 10VSX to go on a Riviera 4400 sport yacht with a 15' beam. The VSX measures 10'-6" and I wouldn't want to go an inch bigger. It fits well but longer would concern me during docking and rough seas. Are you sure the 510 beam is only 12'-3"? I thought it was over...
I fly my phantom 3 all the time. Launch off the roof or bow. Catch landing. Works great. It seems to be the only place I'm allowed to fly it anymore with all the no-fly zones.

If you're a night boater, flir is worth every penny but it's important to keep situational awareness. With the chart plotter, radar and flir distracting you from the windshield, you have to be cognizant of your surroundings.
As for Raymarine, I recently upgraded my chart plotter to an e165...
I've run fusion in my last boat and my current boat. Plenty of people on here have heard both sound systems. They rock! Something else is to blame. Bad wiring, underrated wire gauge, amp settings...something.

Interesting to hear. I found that it did ablate on my hull but not quite as quickly as some of the other ablatives on the market. I had very good results with it. If it matters, I dock in brackish water and boat (about 250 hours a summer) in full saltwater and brackish water.

JimT, I believe you are mistaken about the ablative properties. Vivid is classified as an ablative although it is harder and therefore ablates slower. Check out their webpage.
