Just replaced all my bellows, drive, shift and exhaust..that went pretty well. marked the position and trim senders and re-installed at the same marks. Now the outdrive will go down but will not trim up. It will go all the way up in trailer mode though. Any thoughts? Thanks

I had an '87 MC 21 for 20 years, just sold it and purchased a 04 260. The MC21 was a great boat, I had the 4.3 with OMC Cobra. I used the boat in the Ocean and our lakes. Just like any thing else, just keep up with the maintenance and it will provide many years of good service.

Just got back from having the "smoke test" done on the fuel tank. Good news or bad, depending on how you look at it is there were no detectable leaks. The tank and lines even held pressure for an hour. Now the confusing part is, where is the gas odor coming from? I guess it could be permeability...

Update from this weekend. I pulled the water tank and mounting platform in order to get to the fill and vent lines on the tank. Everything thing is tight and double clamped. Having the same problem on my '04 260. Plan on looking this weekend. Did you see any signs of leakage around the sending unit, such as staining etc. ? Any thought on using a sealant around the gasket edge and bolt heads?

Update, went ahead and bought the Ram 1500 Quad cab 4X4. I tow the boat about 10 times a year up to the Lake which is about 30 miles away, otherwise it's a 5 mile trip to the launching ramp at the bay, the rest of the time it's a commuter vehicle. The performance towing duirng the test drive...

Dry weight of boat is 6200 lbs. Trailer, boat, fuel, water...came in at 9200 lbs.

Anyone have experience with towing an '04 260 Sundancer with a newer Ram 1500? Rated tow is 10250lbs. I'm currently towing with a '06 Nissan Titan 2WD. Pulls the boat just fine, but tough getting up the ramp with 2WD. The 260 is on an aluminum tandem axle road king trailer. Thanks
