    Late 90's 270 Sundancer Thread

    As far as I know everything is stock. With more than 5 people I have a little trouble keeping it on plane in rough water. I suspect it has to do with all the crap guests tend to bring. With limited gear and a normal amount of beer you should be able to cruise at 25-29MPH easily in my opinion...

    Brando I have not had issues restarting and the engine never seems to get over 173. I have bottom paint and can get it up on plane at 3800 ish RPMs with a little trim I back it down to 3500 RPMs and cruise at 28 ish MPH. The temp gauge seems to sit a little over the 170 mark. I'll be...

    Late 90's 270 Sundancer Thread

    Engine overheating or my paranoia - help appreciated. Team, I have had my 2000 Sea Ray 270 Sundancer for about 3 years now. It has the Bravo 3 outdrive and the single 7.4 Mercruiser V-8. I have bottom paint and typically have 3-4 passengers and a cooler with a few brews on board with limited...

    Team; I found a screaming deal on some bow-rail fender mount/brackets and am told that they will fit 3/4" to 1" bow-rails. I have scoured this site and "Google" but have not been able to determine what the diameter of the Bow-Rail is for these boats. Does anyone know? Thank you.

    Anyone install a sub-woofer on one of these boats. I'm debating getting my audio re-done professionally and the guy says that you lose out on approximately 30% without a sub. I can't imagine where to put one though. Any ideas or pictures of a sub on the deck of this vintage of 270 sundancer?

    Man, what a difference the tune-up and bottom job did. The boat is faster now than I though it would be. I could barely get 3500 RPM before, and now I top out at almost 45mph at 4500 RPM (according to the now functional speedo). I was a little skeptical of the performance of this boat when I...

    I found a website called Boats.net. You just put your engine serial # in and you can click/pull all of the necessary parts in minutes. The prices were reasonable too. Pretty simple.

    Howdy everyone. I'm looking to get ready for a little end of the year maintenance and had some questions that someone on here might just know off of the top of their head. I need to tune the engine up and was wondering what plugs/cap/rotor and wires were good. I have the 7.4 MPI Mercruiser...

    Team, I have a few burned out light-bulbs in my boat. West Marine has them, but their hours are awful for a workin man (literally 9-5 M-F). Does anyone know what the model number or identifying number is for the bulb that goes in the bathroom and the bulb that fits the small directional lights...

    A comedy of errors

    Would somebody mind shooting me a picture of the Zip-Tie P loop, so I can re-work my correctly next time I go up. I honestly don't remember which way it went. Thank you;

    A comedy of errors

    Howdy yall, just a few musings from last weekend, that I figured may entertain some. I have had my new to me 2000 270 Sundancer for a few months now and decided it was time to try the Kenyon Butane stove out to cook some eggs on. I had previously purchased some Butane and I put a can into the...

    Late 90's 270 Sundancer Thread

    Well gang, I was able to take the boat out last weekend. What a blast. The weather was in the upper 60s with a little rain at night. Spent the whole weekend up at the marina. Coming into work was a little rough this morning, but, the inagural voyage was a success.

    Well that sucks

    I don't know why the marina won't allow a boat to stick out a little bit. They say its because the anchor sticking out beyond the slip creats liability/injury/damage problems/possibilities. I'm going to go and look around to see if other boats are sticking out, because I want to make sure they...

    Well that sucks

    Just a little FYI to anyone, but I kind of found out the hard way that the advertised length of these boats seems to be a little short. I rented a 30' slip for my new to me 270 Sundancer thinking it would not be a problem. Found out today that due to the extended swim platform and the big...

    Can I get away with this?

    Hey Larry&Leisa; how is Keystone Lake? I got lobbied pretty hard to put the boat up at Grand Lake, but Keystone is a heck of a lot closer, I just couldn't find anyone up there and I have a few friends on Grand. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks;

    Can I get away with this?

    Grand Lake is a few hundred miles North of Texoma, but I tend to agree, its roughly the same climate. The seller kept the boat on Grapevine right next to Texoma and told me he only had to winterize it once in the last few years.

    Can I get away with this?

    I don't think there will be any freeze during the transport, next week it appears to be 35-40 degrees for the (approximately) 6 hour trip to Grand Lake, Oklahoma. I'm having it dropped at the marina mechanic's shop for some maintenance and they will then drop it in the water. We just got a bit...

    Here is a picture of the boat at the seller's marina. I can post a few more once I take possession mid next week.

    Can I get away with this?

    Team, I recently purchased a 2000 270 Sundancer. The boat is located on Lake Grapevine in Texas and is being shipped to Grand Lake, Oklahoma in the middle of next week. I am having it dropped off at the marina mechanic for some basic maintenance and it should be put back into the water on...
