Those kohler 5kw gen sets are known for eating spark plugs. Probably has NGK plugs in it now - replace those with Autolite 66 spark plugs and it will solve the issue -
That would work since it is a DTS control but your boat doesn't have it - you might be able to retrofit it but in my opinion it would not be worth the cost or aggravation
From what I understand everyone is ok. I agree that the barges are sometimes very difficult to see at night due to the way they are marked lighting wise.
A friend of mine owns a marine repair facility and he recently acquired a salvage boat that struck a barge and sank in fresh water. He has removed the following usable items from the boat that are difficult to find if anyone has an interest. Thought with the recent hurricanes there may be...
Might want your dealer to contact Merc - with some of the earlier catalyzed 350 Mags they had this issue due to running parameters being set to tight on the ECM programming to prevent backfiring in the catalytic converters. Cure is to due a running data-log and the run profile is sent to merc...
With the throttles in the idle position turn on the sync switch then advance the stb throttle to full throttle position. Now use the port throttle to control both engines
Make sure you didn't activate the "docking mode" on your DTS controls. That deadens throttle response around the dock and limits amount of throttle travel/sensitivity. Never tried to plane a boat with docking mode on so cant say for sure what percentage of throttle it provides at wide open but...
Just turn on your battery solenoids and got to the helm. You will see the emergency start switch. Hold down the emergency start switch and that will connect your stb bank to the port bank via a solenoid. While holding down the emergency start switch push the hatch button and it will now go...
I am pretty sure your mechanic or yourself checked this long ago but just in case - an engine that has too much oil in it will lose pressure at higher rpm due to the pork chops on the crank slapping the oil and causing the oil to foam. Have you changed/added oil prior to the issue starting to...
Hi Zorba,
This is Jim Wallace from Sea Ray of Cincinnati - sorry I did not read this thread earlier so I could have connected with you. Unfortunately, we were closed over the holidays so we could recharge our batteries a little before winter show season. Feel free to contact me any time at...
This option is designed to make the aft "theater area" a private stateroom - would be popular with owners with kids or those that wish to cruise with other couples for overnight stays. Not real popular in US but used more over seas
Wow! Spent the last 4 days reading this thread as a guest. I have popped on this site quite a few times but never set up an account(ashamed to say since I should have joined long ago). After reading this thread I have set up an account so I can finally chime in. Rob, what a read! You are an...
