I am in the middle of learning/testing. Learning a bunch. Learning that I am old and memorization is tougher than it used to be. All the lights and sounds to memorize is killing me!
It was. The purchaser moved her to Sarasota. Two days before Ian hit I thought she was a goner for sure in Sarasota. Turned out Sarasota was just fine - Ft Myers decimated.
Sadly, the purchaser passed away a few months after buying her - that’s why you see the listing. The listing photos...
Hey Tom. Nice to hear from you. . I just re-read our last DM and I think I finished with “I bet I’ll be back”
Yep we bought that Riv in 2020. It amazing how much more your wife will enjoy a boat and boating in general when you have her pick the boat.
We were fortunate to sell in May or we...
Hello Matt B. Funny saying that, because I am also Matt B. Also funny since we purchased our 52 from Georgian Bay - Barrie sounds very familiar.
I lost track of our 52. I think the purchaser kept it in the general area - not sure how that turned out.
We bought a Riviera in early 2020...
I have a theory that as we age there is a point that we fix in our minds what things cost. Gas should cost this, a house should cost this, a job should pay that…but that’s not the way things work. time marches on…prices go up…and technology progresses.
In my 20s I looked at those new 330’s...
Its been 10 years since we were docked on the South Shore. Made so many friends, great times and memories. We were at Son Rise. My exercise routine was jogging to the airport and watching planes. Sadly can’t be done anymore.
Crews Nest at PIB was awesome. And enjoyed the Thirsty Pony in...
I definitely prefer marinas have availability for me to visit them and charge a reasonable rate. This practice allows it. I think giving the leaseholder some cut of the proceeds is a good idea. Incentivizes everyone to play along.
I am under no assumption that I have any ownership rights to...
I had a 52DB that took two years to get dry. In the end it was the hull to deck joint. Hard to believe - but a good amount of water came in while underway.
On our ‘06 we chased bilge water for some time. Re caulked the entire hull-deck joint and it became dry.
Ours, like most was over propped and we had to do aftercooler/turbo/head work.
Other than that we loved the boat
We had a 52DB 2006 and chased a bunch of bilge water leaks until we re-caulked the entire hull-deck joint. That solved the problem.
From above “Shame that its a 2006 so no longer under warranty, this seems like manufactuer defect not wear an tear.”
Most definitely a manufacturers defect -...
We had a 400 gasser. Loved it for its living area. Much better lay out than 380 if you want living space.
it was 18kts .5 nm per gallon.
Gasser was work around the dock. Diesel 400 likely very nice.
I owned ‘52 2006. PO had to deal with the STBD and I dealt with the PORT. I repitched the props and saw the boat run much better/cooler and don’t expect the new owner to have issues. Fixing the issues (cooler/turbo) was about $6k for the port. Not fun, but given the costs of ownership of...
With a heavy heart we will be putting our 52DB on the market in March 2018; Our interests and passions as a family have shifted a bit and will sideline boating for a while.
We purchased the 52DB in the fall of 2015 in Georgian Bay; she was a two-owner, freshwater only boat at that point. The...
I have my props pulled now. Here's a table that summarizes/averages a bunch of data points.
