That's not entirely true. Geico will insure without a survey. Berkshire insured mine without survey, and geico is now insuring it without survey. Both with the same agreed hull value that exceeds what I paid for it.
Water in the cabin should flow around it and into the back of the boat to be pumped out with the bilge pump. I would take the boat out and drive it with the nose up so it flows back and see if that happens.
I would also take a sponge and clean that area out really good. you'd be surprised how...
I believe that's a shower drain pump. Is there a drain in your bathroom floor?
I have something similar. they get plugged up and need to be cleaned. Mine is more than just dirty, it needs to be replaced but I can't get at the wires to cut them.
Do this. Should be an easy test.
Go for a run at 3/4 throttle. On plane, fairly fast. Note how the boat turns at that speed.
Stop and pull off the PS belt from the pump. With a little luck it's on the outside pulley and should come off by loosening the pump and giving it a push.
Now go...

I've used this stuff the last two years with excellent results.
The first year the amount of black sludge that came out was disgusting.
The next summer our head was a lot nicer to deal with.
I wanted to post this here in hopes that I can help someone else save themselves some time and energy in the future.
Boat – 1990 Sundancer DA 310
Power- 5.7 Mercruisers – Thunderbolt Ign

I bought my boat three seasons ago. When I got it there was an issue with the power steering...
Been there done that. Oxy clean, meguires upholstry cleaner with oxy clean, 3m carpet and upholstry cleaner, spot shot, everything in the cupboard we had for dog stains.
Just passin along what worked for me me after countless products. Finally found one that made a difference. I think mine were...
A couple tips when using this.
It's not instant like cleaning a window. It's best to spray on, rub it in, then give it another spray and walk away for a couple hours. Then come back and spray and wipe again. I found the best results when I sprayed and then left for the night. The next day...
I ordered it online. Can't remember if it was the site I linked to or another. Been a coup,e years and still have the same gallon. Good stuff to have for cleaning water stains.
I had the same issue. Nothing would get those water stains out. I finally found something that did. It's called brown out. http://www.steam-brite.com/pros-choice-brown-gallon-p-84.html
Spray it on full strength and leave it for a couple hours. Then go back and spray it again and wipe it up...
Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
Got the "latest"online quote and I'm looking at $850 for the Bimini and Aft canvas, still a decent deal.
I've come to loath the factory green canvas...:)
Winter is busy season. In fact they never seem to slow down around here. There are a couple really good guys and both said if I gave the word today it would be almost a year before they would get to it. I guess business is good so that's why the high cost here..
Thanks. Snaps would be ok, the canvas comes without snaps installed so I would've able to match them to mine.
Locally I'm looking at $2k for Bimini and fastback, online I can get it for under $600, but it's for a 330. I just want to minimize my risk so to say.
I'm looking to buy some canvas and all I can find is canvas for a 1993 330 sundancer. My boat is a 1990 310.
Ive heard that they are pretty much the same boat and have been able to trace that the windshields are the same.
My neighbor has a 93 330 and he said his original canvas was the same...
I have some zipper lube in a tube. Goes on like grease. Put it on your finger and run it down the zipper. Done. I put a blob of it in front of the zipper mechanism and then ti it back and forth a couple times.
I installed one similar to the raritan unit. It's two foil strips on the outside of the tank with a sensor between the two. It measures the resistance between the tape and calculates the amount of fluid in the tank. I'm super happy with mine. Very reliable and accurate. I paid around $100...
Just to clarify my issue. My trim would work occasionally. So much so that I was sure it was the trailer button.
Turns out it was a trim solenoid. I bet by next season you will be replacing a solenoid.
No way a trim tab adjustment made it work. They are not connected in any way. Just coincidence.
