Lofrans Progress II windlass motor for sale

My Lofrans, a 1200 watt 24 volt model, had a part of the gear break (has nothing to do with the motor). Unfortunately due to availability of that part I ended up just replacing the entire system, however the motor itself (the most expensive part) worked just fine. If anyone is interested in...

    Lost a hull window today

Tony - yours makes the fourth 48 I know of that has lost a forward salon window while underway. Clearly there was a real problem here. I remember being told they went to a new design (I believe sometime in 2008) to resolve this issue. I'd suggest you contact Sea Ray ....

    48 DA Introduction

Bob, I owned a 48DA (great boat - congrats!) and my best friend also owns a 2007 48DA. He had the exact same problem with his washer, it turned out to be a loose hose. He and I both remember the dealer saying they pulled the steps to get to the back of the washer so I'm not sure if you can...

    Drone Video of Boat

A buddy of mine also does this with his drone, in Australia - some *amazing* video. You can see my buddy on the bridge flying the drone in several of the shots. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86U-qGd9ABY he sees what the drone sees apparently. On this flight he came across whales...

Where is my Stereo AMP located

Andy - on my 2005 48 it was under the salon sofa seat, the one most aft. It was contained in a black wooden box. Regards, Jason

Backing into a slip with a Sedan Bridge question...

The 52DB is easy to back into the slip - from the helm I can look down the stairs and see the port side aft corner of the boat, I use that as my guide (as someone else posted, if the port side is fine then the Starboard will take care of itself). In a sense the harder part is making sure the...

Anyone here have FLIR M or MD series?

Jeff, You asked for a picture of my mount - I had the boat out yesterday and thought about that, unfortunately there is no real good way to get a picture of the mount without me climbing up onto the hardtop. I can pull myself up through the glass in the hardtop but it's a pain in the neck and...

Any Lake Lanier boaters on here?

Anyone out there on Lanier boating with kids? My son is 13 and my daughter is 11, we'd love to meet other boaters on the lake with similar aged kids (boy and girl) ....

Anyone here have FLIR M or MD series?

Despite what my display shows, no, Lake Lanier is not a hot tub - my Sea Temp sensor doesn't exist (or if it's there it definitely doesn't work, I haven't bothered figuring that out) so there is always some bogus number there. It does provide good entertainment value though. :)

Anyone here have FLIR M or MD series?

Jeff - darn, was at the boat today/tonight and forgot to get a pic of the mount. I know the local guys had to fabricate a mount for it, I'll try and remember to get some pictures this week. I did get a picture and a few movies of the FLIR in action on the way home tonight. Anyone interested...

Anyone here have FLIR M or MD series?

Capt. Don, Next time I'm out at night I'll try and remember to snap some pictures and post them - might be a few weeks as I have some upcoming travel. Regards, Jason

Anyone here have FLIR M or MD series?

Doug, Okay, where to start. First off, I should say that I love the FLIR and it's made a HUGE difference in my comfort level of taking (slow) cruises home at night after we take the boat out for dinner. I had some trouble with corruption in the signal and we tried all kinds of things...

Advice on adding a boat monitoring/alarm system

Thanks Alex. That's one advantage The Boat Nanny has - simplicity. Motion and temp built into base unit which you just plug in the wall in the salon, then no wires but a remote unit that runs off battery power in the bilge. No app though and not as expandable as Siren (which as you pointed...

Looking for a good Marina in Key West For Feb 2014

Agree with the others - really the only one to consider is Galleon, nice docks and great location.

    Fresh Water pump running continuous.

Everyone covered the possibilities well - it's either a problem with the pump itself (probably least likely in my opinion - I've seen these pumps die completely but I haven't seen one get stuck in a run position), air trapped in the lines, or a leak. Some trial and error/experiments are needed...

Dealer Meeting / In Water Boat Show

I'm not speaking on behalf of MM or Sea Ray ... but I was at both Bald Ridge and Lanier Islands (Sunset Cove) today and had a chance to talk to a few folks. The meetings/events are definitely over at Sunset Cove (Lake Lanier Islands/Big Beach dock area). From what I could see most/all of the...

    Sea Ray 52 SB

Alex, I'm thinking you are kidding (sometimes it's hard to tell in writing), but just to clarify when I wrote "this" 52DB I meant my personal boat (not 52DB's in general). Ie. I currently use and plan to only use this specific 52DB (*my* 52DB) on an inland lake. I'm not making any statement...
