Welcome from Ithaca. I have the same set up as you, 260 with a 2500HD (8.1 ...) although I am shopping to move up. A-bay is great but with Cayuga in the back yard we stay close.

1/2 ton truck is way undersized for a 280. I have a 260 and just moved to a 3/4 ton from a 1/2 ton because the 1/2 ton was undersized. No way would I pull a 280 with a half ton, no matter how short the distance. Your back end does not have the needed suspension and will squat severely. P

I am scheduled to conduct my shakdeown cruise/sea trail this Friday on our new 260 da. I plan to sequentially work through the systems on the boat. The dealer is two hours away so I want to be very thorough. Has anybody developed a good checklist to work from? Peter
