    Engine failure - fuel pump?

haven't checked the fuel pressure - yet. Conversation with the shop last week, and they say check the venting system in the tank, and also there is a check ball in the fuel line from the tank that they tell me can gum up. Will be checking that as I move towards the winterizing tasks later this...

    Engine failure - fuel pump?

Nope, engine temp ran at about 175 (when it ran!) oil pressure good at about 40psi, no other drive system issues. Just think its a fuel delivery problem 'cause I had the same issue after I bypassed the filter.

    Engine failure - fuel pump?

Great day on the water wasted. here's the short story with some pertinent details. Ran to the fishing ground 45 minutes at 3400 rpm. Hooked up down riggers and trolled at idle for about 90 minutes, engine sputters, 10 to 15 minutes more at idle engine sputters and dies. restart and it runs...

    Gimbal Ring Replacement

May be a bit late chimming in, but if you are going to do the gimbal ring/swivel pin repair I highly recommend the option that are found on the JR Marine site (it was noted early in this thread). Had mine done early summer last year - saved about $4,000, becasue I didn't have to pull the engine...

    260 with a 5.7??

Ditto, The 5.7 is a good engine, with adequate power. An experienced wakeboard can get up, but its a long time to plane. You need to look around and under the engine, and the bottom of the bilge for any oil leaks, greasy stuff, and any blue puffs coming out of the water from the exhaust...

    New to Boating

Welcome to the boating world. It's a great activity to do. We have a 260 DA, 2001, and its a great dayboat for a group. We also have four adult children, so the 260 is about as small as you want to go if 75% of the gang show up along with their friends or yours. Too small for more that 4 to...

    GPS for Pacific NW boating...

I'm partial to the Garmin, for a number of reasons, size being the main thing. I have an older (178C) one so cannot get the newer maps with 3D etc. But the Garmin map chip can be updated. Good screen resolution. Good support as well. And because I also try fishing at times (but not much...

    Electrical switch help!

Problem resolved - I still have a boating season. Here is what I've learned from this issue. Get the wiring diagram from the SEARAY.COM archieves. The wirng diagram for my 260DA shows the Eletrical Interface Module, and the SwitchPad, and the next page shows the pin connectors along with the...

    Electrical switch help!

Well, still DOW (dead on water) with the switch issue. pulled the switch pad off, cleaned what I could, and put all back together. it worked - no problems! Set out on an overnight cruise to a local area, anchored, powered down, enjoyed dinner and refreshments. time to clean up - water pump...

    Electric Swith Modules - 260 DA '01

The switch module at the helm that controls all the electrical system (nav lights, blower, pumps, horn, etc.) is not functioning. In checking with the local SeaRay dealers (Vancouver BC and Seattle) I'm told the part is "no longer supported". Any idea if SeaRay is, or has, an alternatve...

    Electrical switch help!

I'm having an issue with my switch pad as well. Fuelled up the otehr day and could not run the blower, and the nav lights wouldn't activate. Talked to SeaRay dealer locally, and in Seatle. The parts are "no longer supported"! So, until I find a way to run the blower, nav lights, water pump...

    Gimbal ring/gimbal housing rebuild-pics

Quint4 - I gotta say thanks for starting this thread. Saved me a bundel!. I have the marina mechanics do the swivel pin/gimbal ring repair with the JR Marnine plate option. Also had JR Marine supply the SS swivel pin, and the hi tensile U-bolt, as well as the custom tools. The marina...

    Gimbal ring/gimbal housing rebuild-pics

So how confident are you with this cover plate repair, versus the 1" plug method? Just discovered that I need this repair to my 260 Sundancer, and was a bit concerned when the only option from the yard was pull the engine - an extreme solution to get at the swivel shaft. Mechanic is willing to...

    A Sailor's last Voyage....

Todd, Very sorry for your loss. So great that you could be there with him, and with all that family, your burden will be well shared. I know what you feel, as my father passed away years ago, and I still wish he could share a boat ride, or tell me stories of his life. Knowing that you've...

    After market anchor winch

No pre-wiring that I can see, and the dealer said no. Nothing to support a windlass anywhere, except some empy slots on a neg bus bar. Did you do your own install, and if so I'd like to know what you learned. Thanks,

    After market anchor winch

Todd, I've had the catchall thingy out, not the upper gauge cluster - yet. Lots of room to work in there, but after the head things become a mystery - and that's the one I'm trying to solve via SRC experience. Nope, I don't want another battery up front - maintenance, space, weight and...

    After market anchor winch

thanks all . so far.... I've checked the Owners Manual, and did find some info. figure 13.1 shows locations for the windlass breaker and solenoid in the engine compartment. figure 20.1 shows the deck mounting locations, figure 26.1 shows the wiring harness running from the engine room along the...

    After market anchor winch

Glad to have an inside line to the SeaRay workings. I have a 2001 260DA with the armstrong winch option. I'd like to upgrade to a powered flush mount vertical unit, and am looking at a couple options - Lewmar, Maxim, others. but my main questions is: how/where to run the heavy guage wire...

Hey Todd, I've been hibernating for a while but thought I'd see what the CSR regulars are up to. This wil be a great trip for you and your group. Good info already on some of the posts. As this is my home port, here's a little more from an insider When we leave our marina, Reed Point in...

    CSR-iBoatNW Jul 18th -Aug3rd Rendezvous

Boy what a great trip! The pix look great, but the memories behind them ... must be awesome. We were up in Pender Harbour / Smuglers Cove last year. Great place. So next year, lets see if this Canuck can hook up for a leg or two. Cheers,
