on little carbs I remove all rubber, separate bowl, float, needles and slow boil in a stainless steel pot in water for an hour, then blow them out with a air hose
I just did this, or I should say had it done.
I tried doing it myself, the first attempt didn't look so good and with the splice feeding through the lofrans 1000 windlass it had to a nice tapered, tight splice. I paid a guy who did a great job, my wife was happy I didn't splice the anchor line...
well done!
I tell my guests that in the cockpit by design the horn sounds wimpy but up front at the anchor and forward it will deafen you and blow your hair back
they have two springs attached to the fixture, they just pull down, the head fixtures are a lot harder to pull out then the cabin fixtures, pull down a cabin fixture so you can see what you're dealing with
We renamed our boat a couple of weeks ago on our holidays, to " Gimme Shelter "
did the denaming and the renaming ceremonies, a couple bottles of champagne and have only had 2 problems since :)
I moved Marinas this year and for the first time I'm bow in at the slip, bow in is harder to dock then stern in, have you tried stern in? stern in will give you zero chance of hitting the pilons
