I had a friend build me a stainless "L" to replace the plastic POS based on a drawing I received from another 400 owner. We made it a touch smaller on a couple of the dimensions to make it easier to install and not have to purchase a 3rd sheet of stainless and it has worked out great. Changed...
I have 2 CAT sample pumps, one for oils and one for coolant. They work well also, no complaints there.
CAT had my missing results in their computer system this time, guess they decided to only mail the oil samples and not trans samples.
Thanks guys, I appreciate all of the input. My local CAT guys have always been great, I just haven't had the greatest experience with the sample testing side of things and I feel like they are the single most important thing to have solid records of on the entire boat!
Is there any real difference between these 2 companies for fluid analysis? 2 of the past 3 years I have sent my samples to CAT and have not received all of my results. I am looking for an better alternative, if one exists.
I had to have my step rebuilt last winter on my 400DA. It was not hard to take out at all. I removed the entire setup from the boat to do the work. You need to remove the trim piece that goes around the step when closed first (the screws come in from the back, you can get to them with the step...
Sync was off. This was a true test of each engine on it’s own with wide open throttles. When I use the sync, RPMs are even closer than this. I love that feature.
Prop tuning question. Is there a particular prop shop that is highly experienced with Sea Ray prop tuning and in particular, the 400 with 3116 Cats? I added Aetna tachs this year and I am about 30-35 RPM short of 2,800 with half tanks and clean bottom with summer temps, but not super high...
I think it is a great boat for a couple. My wife and I have a 400, we were shopping for a 400, 410 or 450. The only thing I did not like about the 450 was the height of the arch. We are tall, so it was important. The boat in the foreground is a 450 and in front of it is our 400. The picture...

I wish this company would make their platforms with no wood to eliminate water problems, but they do appear to be one of the best in the business.
4'8" and I am pretty sure the factory platform is only 36". You're 8" wider and your platform is 8.5" longer, seems like you would have 4.5" more room than me. I must be missing something. I'm not saying mine isn't tight to crank and swing, but I have done it a dozen times without issue.
How wide is your dinghy? I have my H3O+ on the standard platform and it works great with mine, no extension needed. My only issue was I couldn't mount it exactly where I wanted left to right because of a stringer position on the factory platform and the stupid ladder locker.
I'd love to check out your platform when it shows up. I have an H3O+ on the factory long platform and I have been seriously considering the platforms.com platform. According to what they told me, it's almost 8" longer than mine. You are going to love it!
