Mitch, i am in Newport News on the James River and travel into the Elizabeth River, into the Bay, across the Bay to past the bridge tunnel to the Eastern Shore and into the Atlantic ocean a little to get to Lynnhaven Marina at Lynnhaven inlet.

i have twin 250 mercury OBs. Starboard engine wont start due to shift lever sensor. Error code 1024-6. i have to go across the southern chesapeake bay to get to my dealer. what do you all think about doing this on one engine. anyone know how well the boat will do thanks

we got the 2018 290 SDX OB last fall. really happy with it. Rides well and much smoother than my Dancer in the Chesapeake Bay. Great response when throttled and all the kids and grandkids fit easily. Had a lot or wiring issues with the offshore power and inverter. My dealer ended up re doing it...

will do. been a while since i learned how to post pictures but im sure i can figure it out. I just looked and i do have lifting eyes under the platform--who knew. if i ever have to tow a small boat in to dock might reach under to use those.

thanks everyone. i ended up ordering the turbo swing for dual engines. it looked like the answer when i saw it and then i saw Lazy Daz response above and went for it. ill let you know how it goes PS--i haven't looked under the platform for a lifting eye. i do have aft cleats on the side but...

thanks everybody. turns out there is a sticker on the tower--dumb me. it says one person. kind of a shame for a boat like this with 500 HP! i was going to make a harness to around the engines if i couldnt find a long enough one---turns out they didn't put any eye bolts or cleats on the transom...

i have a 290 SDX OB. anyone know the towing limit on the tower? i have not been able to find anything on it. there are no cleats or eye bolts on the rear so the tower is the only tow option. it seems very sturdy but i dont want to over do it thanks

no transfer switch. my dancer had a transfer switch. the control panel simply has a main power switch that seems to turn on shore power when it is plugged in. if i unplug shore power and turn on inverter battery and turn main power on, the reverse polarity light comes on and outlets don't work...

as an update, i have the outlets working on shore power. still cant get outlets to work on inverter only. we have power at the outlets but reversed polarity and nothing will operate off the outlet. Sea Ray cant figure it out so far

shore power is 30 amp. volt meter reds ok. Shore power worked fine on my dancer

I just ordered a 290 OB after selling my 280 dancer. Same reasons you just described. do you have any info or pictures on the tow point you put on. i havent figured out an easy way for watersports. My dealer said use a y-cord around engines but i dont like that idea at all thanks

not sure if i have your question right. but my 2008 dancer has a clarion out put jack at the counsel to plug in head phones etc. I reversed it at the radio to be an input . So now i can use the jack at the counsel as an aux input. I play XM from my garmin through it

thanks good to hear. i looked at 270 and 290 and am back to the 290OB. Looking at getting most all options except grill and off shore power. Cant see the need for 5 k for a grill and shore power that will run the battery down anyway. i feel better with twins . Haven't had a lot of luck finding a...

i may need re think the 270. I go out in Chesapeake Bay a lot and 2 engines is appealing. The joy stick up grade is 30k by itself though!

has anyone jumped in on the 290 SDX twin OB? im thinking of trading my 280 Dancer as we dont spend the night on it that much. Criuse and stay at the marina hotels etc and lots of day stuff with the grand kids. Would enjoy exchanging ideas if anyone has one or is considering. Dave
