    Need advice/input on 48 Sundancer

Spot on ... I'd seriously consider a sedan bridge. The 48 DA is a great boat, but the sedan bridge offers more convenience, with an enclosed salon and the galley upstairs. A/C on the enclosed bridge and much more storage room. It makes a great difference when you're cruising for several days and...

    Trip to the Keys

If I were you, I wouldn't go farther south of Marathon. You can do Boca Chita key (near Elliot), Ocean Reef, Hawks Cay and Marathon marina. IMO it makes no sense to spend all that fuel to get to Key West and back (160 miles from Miami takes a lot of fuel), and weather in December is not the best...

63 ft Sundancer accident in Miami

I was just looking at the manual for the 58 Sedan Bridge and the maximum number of passengers is listed as 16. That 63' is probably over the limit of the number of people it could carry safely.

63 ft Sundancer accident in Miami

A 63-foot Sea Ray is docked at the Miami Beach Coast Guard base Sunday after authorities say it collided with a 27-foot boat, killing a woman. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/article2689153.html

in salt all the time, what propulsion option is best?

Stay far, far away from I/O's if you're 100% in saltwater. Inboards is the way to go.

    L580

I had some expectation about the new 58 Fly but don't like these initial specs. First, it's smaller than a 58 DB. Also at this point they have to take the beam to 17' at least, 16' is just too narrow for this type of boat. I've been on similar size boats of other brands, and the extra beam makes...

    I/O or V Drive?

I had them in a 350DA and they were OK. But for maintenance and piece of mind V drives is the way to go.

    Cheap inexpensive LED upgrade

+1 for Marinebeam, recently replaced all bulbs with Leds in my 58. Good quality at a reasonable price. No more heat from halogens. Went through some chinese bulbs from Amazon before, but not reliable. Make sure you match the right voltage, my boat lights are 24v but it goes up to 28v while...

    Real Teak versus Synthetic Teak?

I found the plasteak too hot for South FL, what's the point of being on a boat and having to wear shoes ? The coolteak is a bit better but the colors don't look good. Still looking for a viable product that can be used in hot climates.

    Wi-Fi Robin

I have the rogue wave pro. The antenna can be located anywhere in the boat, I have it inside a compartment on the bridge. Connected it to a $50 router and everything works just fine. wavewifi.com

    Wi-Fi Robin

Use the wave wifi antenna to get the signal.from your marina and connect it to any router in your boat. It works.

Anyone have a wifi repeater on their boat?

+1 for Wave wifi, it's the best that you can get without breaking the bank.

    58 sedan bridge dinghy

The Boston Whaler 110 sport comes with a 25hp engine and they don't offer a bigger engine for that model. I've heard of people who put a 40hp with no problems anyway, but they're above the engine weight limit set by the manufacturer. I've run it with 3 people max and the 25hp outboard performs fine.

    58 sedan bridge dinghy

The 58DB is listed with a beam of 16 ft but at the swim platform you don't get more than 12 ft available. You have to look at an outboard in the 11 ft range. Maybe you can fit a jet ski or jet tender slightly bigger, but then there's the issue of weight, and they don't recommend to load the...
