If I were you, I wouldn't go farther south of Marathon. You can do Boca Chita key (near Elliot), Ocean Reef, Hawks Cay and Marathon marina. IMO it makes no sense to spend all that fuel to get to Key West and back (160 miles from Miami takes a lot of fuel), and weather in December is not the best...

I have the rogue wave pro. The antenna can be located anywhere in the boat, I have it inside a compartment on the bridge. Connected it to a $50 router and everything works just fine. wavewifi.com

Use the wave wifi antenna to get the signal.from your marina and connect it to any router in your boat. It works.

The Boston Whaler 110 sport comes with a 25hp engine and they don't offer a bigger engine for that model. I've heard of people who put a 40hp with no problems anyway, but they're above the engine weight limit set by the manufacturer. I've run it with 3 people max and the 25hp outboard performs fine.
