(this is not my boat) but how about a 2005 SEA RAY - 260 SUNDANCER
Engine: Mercruiser 350 MAG 300HP
Engine Hours: 81
SHE HAS A KOEHLER GENERATOR WITH ONLY 15 HOURS AND HEAT AND AIR!! REMOTE SPOTLIGHT, POWER WINDLASS, STEREO REMOTE, AND VHF RADIO, TRIM TABS, BIMINI TOP(NO ENCLOSURE)...
it doesnt sound like you that are unhappy with your current boat. so i say dont trade up. run your boat for a few more seasons. dont take the depreciation hit on your 1 yr old boat just to bump up hp that you conceded you only need 2x a summer....we had a 16' bowrider with a 120hp volvo for 4...
lacks of use will cause the impellers to take on a "set" that is likely to increase failure probably more so than use. also if you winterize the boat with antifreeze and do not remove the impellers they often swell from absorption of the antifreeze and will fail more quickly.
find a travelling...
try heating a cup of water. even a low wattage micro should boil a room temperature water in under 2 mins.....be sure to use a micro safe cup or paper so all the energy/heat isnt transferred to the cup.
how was the boat slipped if it had no bottom paint and the bottom looked showroom new??? it doesnt make sense. was it on a lift and the lower unit left hanging in the water??
i found the threads for Scott who makes replacement panels. I already emailed him about doing a new blank and moving the gauges around to allow for a chartplotter. thanks!
i lll do a search. thanks.
im thinking that gray king starboard would be a pretty close match to the plastic overhang/sunshield. i agree that doing both wood grain panels in the same material is the way to go.
im surprised more people havent modified the dashes of their boats to mount...
ok, here is the actual helm station.....replacing the wood grain with white starboard is not going to look good against the colored gelcoat and lower panel with wood grain.....other suggestions?
the remote mic VHF idea is great. that way the unit can be rmeote mounted and locked up and the full featured mic can be unplugged from the dash - i assume icom and standard still make these models...
ok, i m thinking of ditching 3 of the redundant gauges (drive trim, water temp and oil...
i m looking at a 2004 240 SD. the dash looks the same for the 240 SD from 2002 through 2008....actually the 220 dash is not the same for any year looking at sea ray archives...
Does anyone have any pics of installed electronics on the 220/240 dash? Or a description of units that fit and where/how you mounted them..
I was hoping to mount a vhf and possibly a combo unit or maybe just a depth unit. I find it kind of ridiculous that they give you almost no space to flush...
looking on boat trader most used price look pretty unrealistic - the MM price look cheaper than most private sales and i assume the MM boats have a short warranty and have been gone through prior to sale.....given the used boat market and the economy, i dont get these prices....
ok, how do "we" feel about $24-25k for a very clean '04 240 sundeck with 200 hrs, never bottom painted, std 260hp w/BIII, dual capt chairs, front and rear cockpit covers, two tone color, and auto halon. no trailer.
you probably should go with the larger engine. we had a 1983 galaxy 17' bowrider with a 4 cylinder volvo 120hp IO. it ran fine with 4 people on board cruising over 30 and topping out around mid 30s. but pulling skiiers out of the hole was hard. 160-200hp would have been nice.....you do not need...
am i the only one here who thinks that jumping from a 16 runabout to a 29' cruiser is too big a jump for most people?? it isnt just a matter of cost. that big a jump translates very differently for different people. for some, they will adapt quickly and love the bigger boat. others will...
on our inboard diesel, we switched from bronze 3 blade to austral nibral 4 bladed props - the boat was much quicker at idle speed and responded quicker to the controls when docking. cruise speeds and efficiency improved at all speeds. the boat holds plane at a lower rpm. our express also rides...
thanks guys!
i jsut looked and saw that AC has its boat show this week - i m headed there tomorrow to take a look in person and hopefully see the 240 in more detail.
one final question with the cooler in the helm console, can you reach the other stuff life life jackets or do you need to pull...
