How early can I get her wet?

I finally got her in yesterday (Thursday) morning:thumbsup:. It was a long time coming when you keep in mind I was planning on being in the water on April 24th. They ran into some snags in Cheboygen, WI, getting her out of storage. They finally got her down to Milwaukee and decided to float...

    Yikes.......$104 a Barrel !!!!!

One thing I don't understand is with such a lengthy history of the Bush family being in power, why is US Oil exploration, drilling and refining not farther ahead? They are a big oil family. Maybe they are too busy with politics to server the American people. Who knows, once they are out of...

How early can I get her wet?

That is funny and annoying at the same time. This old yahoo just keeps putting his life in danger by not checking the ice before driving on it?!! I have driven, biked, snowmobile, etc. for many years and always had enough sense to check it first... especially when it's March! That is simply...

How early can I get her wet?

I did get the clearance from the marina... they said they officially open on April 15th so I should be fine with a launch day of April 24th. I seen the weather report for the last day of March is 60 degrees and thunderstorms here in west Michigan. But then it all gets crappy again for a few...

    2005 390

Absolutely! I think we agree on this :smt001. That was actually my point as well. I think it just depends on if the benefits of diesel are worth it for that individual. Honestly, if I could have found a diesel powered boat of similar size and within say, $15-20k of what I paid, I would have...

    2005 390

I don't want to get this too far off topic but this is the kind of attitude that keeps thousands of people out of recreational boating because they think they cannot afford it (or are given that impression). I am not a rich man by any stretch but I have dreamed of owning a boat like the one I...

How early can I get her wet?

OK..OK! I'll quit. But just remember, I am a single guy home alone at night. I sometime just have to let my boogie out!!

    2005 390

That's pretty close.. What I do is get the average cost per gallon of gas and diesel and multiply each by their burn rate (GPH). That gives you a cost per hour for each. Then you can multiply each cost per hour by the hours per year you put on your boat and you have the annual cost for...

How early can I get her wet?

Here's to having some of your luck spill on to me!! Thanx for the well wishes Mike. May your tax pain be little and your fuel bill be small and may the seas greet you warmly while your interest rates fall.

How early can I get her wet?

I am doing my sunshine dance daily in hopes of a break-through day on April 24th.... I am thinking anything above 60 degrees would be great but I'd love some crazy 75 degree sunny day. If the weather is bad though, I'll postpone. Then again, if something like April 15th turns out to be 70...

How early can I get her wet?

LOL - ya know, I thought about that as soon as I started this thread. I didn't intend it that way... it was just a slip of the tongue. I took another look at it but couldn't put my finger on it. I am usually very good with these things but this time it was really hard to get it sounding...

How early can I get her wet?

Oh yea!! We'll see how that works out. Sometimes I'm in the mood for the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival mentality... other times it just annoys me (signs of getting older I guess). Good to have it there when I need it though  Yes indeed. I have secured my spot at Great Lakes...

How early can I get her wet?

I am remaining completely in denial! Blissfully ignorant and ignoring all signs of fuel cost increases. :lol:At least for a while... like until the first credit card bill arrives. :smt100BUT I AM NOT THINKING ABOUT THAT!!:smt101

How early can I get her wet?

Sounds like I am about on target. My only hangup will be if the new canvas is done by then. Then again, as long as they have all they need to get started on it, I can use the slantback that comes with it for a while. Good point though Boltman.... I better wear some warm clothes for the first...

How early can I get her wet?

Hey all, Anxiously waiting to do my launch, sea trial, orientation and obviously first day cruise. I have tentatively scheduled a launch date of April 24th. Does this sound about right? Too early, too late?... opinions. I know the official "opening day" of the marina is May 1st but I can't...

    6.2L 340DA - underpowered?

Looks good! I am thinking if I have any issue down the road with the 6.2L's in my 340, I'll just add the supercharger, higher ratio rocker arms and heavier injectors. That should do the trick. If that still isn't enough, Zex dry kit-about a 75 shot should finish it off! :smt119

    Yikes.......$104 a Barrel !!!!!

Yea.. where is that check?!! That will easily pay for the gas needed in my truck to get me to the bar and have a little change left over for a beer!! Or better yet, I could use it to pay for the cost of gas to get the boat from the launch to the slip... maybe. Might be stretching it a bit...

My 260 SD Sea Trial Yesterday

Congrats!!! It's great to hear the sea trial went well. I am waiting for the Michigan weather to warm up so I can do the same thing. I join Drama Queen in toasting to a great summer boating season!!
