Grillamount Table & Grill Station for the swim platform

Just a plug for @Shawn Casey we bought one his wooden tables for our 340. Really changes things having that extra space out back. Very well made, I'd absolutely recommend them.

    2006 340 Sundancer AC unit.

Previous owner installed the 16k Marineaire unit just prior to selling the boat to us. I have nothing to compare it's performance to except to say it does a fine job heating and cooling the cabin to whatever the desired cabin temp. Live in E. TN, boat in the water year round and haven't...

    02-07 340 Da GPH

2008 8.1s v-drive, half tanks and 2 people on board: 3000 RPM 24.1 GPH 21 MPH 3300 RPM 29.5 GPH 25 MPH 3500 RPM 33.2 GPH 28 MPH That was last year right after installing new spark plugs.

    paddle wheel sensor

I have the same setup on our 2008 340. Both the paddle wheel and the depth/temp transducers connect to the main smart craft harness on top of the starboard engine. Those are generic transducers and in our application the cables are far longer than needed, hence the bundles.

    Windless foot switch cover

Resurrecting this thread, I'm going to change both switch covers to stainless, reuse the original switches themselves and keep the new ones as spares. The instructions say "must be installed without using silicone." I'm assuming that means don't run a bead of sealant around the unit before...

Time to replace the dash VHF

That looks good, in our case we had the remote mount NorthStar VHF. I removed the round Clarion remote in the same spot you have yours and enlarged to mount the GX there. I like the AIS receive function more than I thought I would, it pairs well with the Garmin too.

Time to replace the dash VHF

I found the exact same thing having just installed a GX 2400. Ended up removing my Garmin plotter to get one hand to the backside of the radio to secure it. I should have done more homework on the flush mounting and in hindsight I probably would have paid extra for a Garmin VHF just for ease...

Kohler 5ECD to Vessel View 7

In my case, the gen data cable is purple and was tied up in a wire bundle running up the starboard side. One end was above and just forward of the gen, the other end was tied up with that bundle in the void space beside the driver seat/helm station. Had to search for a day or two until I found...

    Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Need to swap the depth/temp transducer on our 2008. For anyone who has done this, how did you reach it? I tried to contort myself down and between the engines today. I can sort of reach it, but can't see it and reach it at the same time. I had debated pulling and replacing in the water but...

Kohler 5ECD to Vessel View 7

I don't see any gen info on the Garmin even though I can see main engine data. Only able to see gen info on the original vessel view unit. Oddly, that screen defaults to Onan until the gen battery switch is on, then it comes alive with proper Kohler branding and data.

    Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

I can't speak for Kevin, I generally drop one into the a/c system strainer when it starts to look a little murky but before it gets really nasty. We leave the system on all year, either cooling in summer or heat in winter so there is regular water flow. Probably 2-3 times a year but I'm in...

    Remote temp monitor

I have 3 Blink XT wireless cameras that have built in temperature sensing. One on the arch, one facing aft on a windshield pillar, and one mounted in the engine compartment.

@green anchors I went with a 33 lb one. Yes the tip will contact the hull if you bring it all the way up. My solution was to install a stainless hull guard to keep it from bouncing and gouging the gel coat. https://www.wholesalemarine.com/scuffbuster-stainless-steel-bow-guard-xl.html

The Clarion has 2 screws on each side behind cover plates. Fusion has an adapter plate to fit a standard DIN opening. edit: on airplane Wi-Fi and didn’t feel like cropping the pic to make the orientation correct.

    Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

I replaced the stock C80 on our 2008 with a Garmin 943xsv. I used a premade adapter plate that Jim at BOE was working on this time last year. I wish the screen was a bit bigger, but it works well enough for the TN river. I also added the Smartcraft to NMEA 2000 adapter on to the network so I...

Vesselview smart craft 1.5 to NMEA2000

Yes for the gateway. I bought mine off eBay for about $250 I think last year. The smart craft receives gps data from NMEA 0183 that was output from the original Raymarine. Does the Axiom have that capability?

    Vacuflush question

I'm going through this right now on our 2008 340. No vacuum generator pump unless you tap the unit. At first I thought it was the motor, more investigation leads me to believe its the vacuum switch. Has anyone ever jumpered the switch wires to verify? Or is the switch a likely culprit and...

    VHF radio with AIS opinion

@Smashpjp I'm glad you asked this, I'm looking at both those units and installed a Garmin MFD in the spring. This to replace the original Northstar VHF. I was leaning toward the Standard Horizon unit before, I think I'm definitely going that way. Last time I looked, Jim @ BOE marine had the...

    Tennessee River boating

Pretty much nailed it for the immediate Knoxville area. True about the waiting lists, although my son interned at the Fox Road Marina service dept this summer and they might have an opening or two. Even though we live in Knoxville, our 340 lives down on Watt's Bar at Blue Springs Marina...

    Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

On our 2008, the transducer for depth/temp is located on the centerline almost directly below the engine room electrical panel. I'm not sure about interference issues.
