Mike: I think it's super shallow from vernita down around white bluffs and old town hanford. I fish at white bluffs and can't get further upriver in my 205. Depths down to 2-3ft... YMMV. Hope this helps. Perhaps the Whaler could make it but I only see jet boats try it.
Having had my 205 on those waters, I can vouch for GFC that there's a great many folks operating boats of all types (blow and power) out there that either don't know the navigation rules, ignore them, or are otherwise altered. People forget that rivers (even mighty ones like the Columbia)...
Please let me know how the boat responds. I'm highly interested in doing either this, or an updated 5.3L/327 once my 5.0L finally says it's had enough, or my bankroll grows inversely to my ability to not upgrade!
I've always felt a 350 or similar in this boat would make it an absolute beast...
Hope this helps - all photos from port side:
Note: The Service Manual notes that all motor mounts for 5.0 and 5.7/6.2 are the same. Only difference might be where the mount ends up on the structure. I believe the trapezoidal piece my mounts are installed on is solid, and designed to take the...
I'll check for you sometime this week or weekend. photo too. Any specific shots or angles?
By the way, the 4.3L V6 is just a 350 w the front 2 cylinders chopped off? My FIL is a big Chev mechanic...
Jerry - typically the 305V8 and the 350V8 have common motor mounts. I don't have the boat easily accessible at the moment, but I'm almost sure they share mounts.
Getting a picture of the mounts might be difficult, and may not tell you what you need to know. One more thing; I don't think a 350...
Play the cash to your advantage (by not telling your dealer) - take the note, make sure there's no early payoff penalty, and let the dealer get some juice (some of which may be passed along to you). Then, pay it off once the deal is done.
Personally, with what you've described to me, I would...
1) Buy a gently used boat (2014/2015) and get a survey - you'll save tons of $
2) All the Sea Ray dealers are nearly monopolistic; be prepared to travel a distance to play one against another. There's only 1 authorized dealer in Seattle; have to go to Portland or Spokane to get to the other...
The cover has a cord that goes all the way around itself at the bottom that can be tensioned to be very, very tight. No straps needed between that and the HangTyte to keep the cover on.
Image per Request (your PM box is full, BTW):
The cover works great, fits well, and I use a Hangtyte on top to keep it taut. No issues in recommending it to others.
Will finally have it professionally cleaned and re-sealed this fall (almost 4 years in the elements).
Good luck.
Not 100% sure on them because I haven't used all of them, but Checkered Flag Marine is one within your range of hours, the other is Allison Marine in Kent which is 2-2.5h from Oak Harbor. Checking on another guy up in the Arlington/Oso area, don't have that info yet.
I'd start with the Shoreland'r website. You can search for your boat, and they'll provide their OEM trailer match with all of the dimensions and such that you'd need. Good luck!
Hi, Pete:
I did this on a 2004 180 Sport. If you bought a factory tower, there is already reinforcement in the fiberglass for it. You can always add more if you think it's best.
The bimini that is in your picture won't fit with a factory tower; plan to sell it and buy another that mounts on...
Glenn's comments above are correct...that said, it doesn't seem from looking that there are any major or noticeable changes from 2006 to 2007 for the 175 Sport. If you're deciding on which to buy (just guessing), go as new as you can.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
OEM parts are from TACO Marine (no joke).
Look at FPMarine online, and others to find OEM biminis, or build your own. The ball ends (that mate to your brackets) are available in lots of places.
Good luck!
