Engine question- 6CTA Cummins:
When I was going to change filters and I noticed the shut offs for my port engine coolant/water filter are different than STB. STB has the inline yellow tabs and the port has a twist shut off. Question: Is one of these shut offs better than the other? Would...
Hey all,
At some point PO replaced my Tac Guage with hours so I have about a 600 hour gap on my hours on the gauge. (Not engines) I have the manual 6 CTA. Was wondering if there is a way to get them reading the same. Have heard some say you can hook a battery up to the back someway and run it...
Hello, Time to replace the Dometic AC unit in the salon.
Has anyone done this lately. The issue is not replacing but finding a 16000 BTU 230 dometic unit. Everything seems back ordered for months still. I have been talking to Citi Marine. They have the CTM units that are a direct...
question for the forum. About a year ago had the boat caulk redone. ( Not sure if that is the cause or not) Shortly after that I have noticed my floor in the cockpit creaks worse and worse. It is in the main path almost at the port step tot he breaker panel. There are no cracks in the...
Took boat out last weekend. Noticed my running lights on bow wouldn't come on (port and STB) with everything else. I am assuming a contact issue since it was both. I was going to run back up today and take them apart. Anyone have any advice on this before? I usually just check before I do...
Looks like my AC amp meter isn’t working. I can find the 12v but not the AC. Has Anyone ran into this before or have any ideas? Thanks
(no issues with power, just notice the gauge on amps not responding)
Would you happen to have the contact info for DMA and Dave? I tired to google but nothing coming up. I do have the turbo so would like to send it to Dave. Thanks so much!
Help all, I have Cummins 6CTAs and I am
Looking for a turbo. Marina says they are having a hard time finding the part or a unit. Any one know the part number and best place to get it? Are there any remans worth getting or rebuild kits? TIA
thanks for the ideas. I pulled my paper work from the service. My lake does not have mussels. It did spend some time in salt earlier on in life, So maybe I should just do a clean? At the 1k service they said they did they pulled and serviced the after coolers and exchangers in the report...
Reading at Gauges. I would agree but as I said they do heat up to 160 and stay until getting on plane. I have had this thought. Maybe I should check that as well.
I am on small lake and don’t get to run it hard many times . I think I have had this issue ongoing. Last year had the heat exchanger cleaned. It stopped it when we tested after work was done but then started back. I only put about 100 hours a year in the boat. I knew coolant is a long shot...
