Talk about a late reply... Yes, I had a cracked plug on the starboard side motor. replaced all plugs to be sure, ran amazing after. I have since sold the boat and moved to another Sea Ray

I asked the same question! There area few options on the Axion that will drive it up a bit but yes it is less. New technology plus competing with Garmin is my guess. I first saw the Axion at the boat show then West Marine. The employee at WM had said they think they will sell a lot of them. I...

Standard depends on a few factors. Here is what I'm looking to replace my SL with; http://www.raymarine.com/multifunction-displays/axiom/ Its the newest MFD from Raymarine, not available till April. I have no radar currently so will also include the latest setup available. Three sizes to...

A Agree on all points. Also as an FYI, Bow Thruster installed will set you back about $7,500. I don't have one since I have the V-drives but looked into it at boat show last week.

I can only speak for the V-drive version, as stated low maintenance is key and I would assume easier docking since the props are more centered underneath. Working room on the 8.1's is laughable and I'm 5'9... However, the 8.1 motors are known to be a great setup for the older 340 class, at...

Making the jump from fresh to salt this season. My 2004 is pretty much stock. Any mods I should consider other than the following; New nav/radar, new bottom paint, check zincs... I also read a post in the past of the top 10 mods to consider for the 340, can't seem to find the post now.

Great topic, Tools and spares under captain seat, safety gear under back and side bench for easy access, canvas in back facing bench but rethinking this process, utensils/food magically comes up from below when I'm hungry

Thanks Rob, this is helpful. Not a bad cost considering the distance. I only need to go 175 miles

Stee6043--No survey, I've owned the boat for 6 years. Do you remember about what you paid? I'm getting quotes for $1450, just want to see if that's the norm.

Reposting in additional forum. Need some advice please. Looking to transport my 2004 340 from freshwater (NH) to saltwater (Portsmouth RI). Has anyone transported via hauling company? Any recommendations? Do props need to be removed? Boat is still winterized and wrapped from last season...

Curious if anyone has had this issue. When putting boat in gear at idle my starboard transmission makes a knocking noise almost like there is play in the way it hooks up. It goes away once I give a little throttle and doesn't always make the knock, usually only when on a cold start. Twin 8.1's...

I have a full camper canvas on my 2004, love the extra space but painful to reassemble when gone for a few days. Looking to see if anyone has a Blue cockpit cover they would like to sell if not using. I have a canvas guy who can make it to spec but wanted to see if anyone had one already.

I replaced my ice maker last year. All the wiring for the fridge option was already there, just needed to add the breaker to the panel on the front engine wall. I have a 2004 but assume a 06 would be the same. When you take the panel off you should see the wiring to the blank where the breaker goes.
