I am thinking of moving up to a 48 to 58 foot Sedan Bridge but I am concerned about the forward visibility from the rear helm position. We have to watch the water very closely for deadheads and logs. I'm spoiled by the great visibility of the 44 Sedan Bridge. Are any of these models better or...
The existing deck snaps in my boat were very poorly located and need to be moved. I want to install the tab and post in the carpet first so it is properly located in the carpet corners then install the deck snap beneath it. Any tips on how to locate the new deck tab in the correct location...
The boat has been running better than ever since the Cummins Tech put the diagnostics on as previously reported. I've probably put about 10 additional hours on the boat. The mystery continues as to what was wrong and if somone fixed something on the last visit.
Update after sea trial with Cummins tech on board. All the diagnostic leads hooked up to the computer, etc. As you could have guessed, the boat ran flawlessly. No error codes on either engine. Ran it up to WOT and not a blip on performance. No start/stop problem after cold start. The previous...
I will check the tank vents. Not sure what would clog them though. I also checked out the Boatdiesel.com link and there could be the basis for a similar issue/fix there even though it is a different engine. I sent the link onto Cummins. Thanks guys for the input.
I have been told the old calibration cannot be reloaded. They did reload the new calibration in case there was corruption in the initial load. Cummins did check fuel pressure at the dock but saw no issue. We are going to sea trial next week with tech on board and diagnostic computer hooked up.
Its a long story......At approximately 380 hours Cummins serviced my engines in April. New filters, fluids, impellers, etc. They also did a software upgrade which they refer to as a recalibration. Immediately thereafter port engine would start and then die. Never happened prior. These engines...
After completing a two hour cruise we had holding tank odor in the salon upon arrival. There was no spillage from the heads. The heads were not used during transit. The holding take was not very full at all. Aired the cabin out. Then used the heads for three days, no problems, no odors in or...
Have any of you changed the tabs? If so to what size? Did you stay with the single actuator? Was the change very beneficial? I have a Sea Lift Platform and added some batteries so a little help getting on plane would be helpful. Thanks for the input.
Solved the mystery. We removed the carpeted trim just inside of the sliders. It has the chrome trim on it that serves as a step plate. There were 5 screws hidden in the nap of the carpet a couple of which were under the chrome plate. The good news is that we did not have to take off the door...
I saw an older post on this topic regarding a 2008 DB. I have a 2006 and cannot locate "plastic piece at the top" as directed in that post to remove the door. Is there another way to remove the door? Can the carpeted trim piece just inside the door be removed? Any tips would be appreciated.
Does anyone have and use a "sunpad filler cushion" for the bridge aft seating? Do you use if for sleeping? Usefull to have? Where do you store it while underway? Any idea what the cost is? Thanks.
I am not all that familiar with the 340 layout but you might want to check the fresh water manifold and the fittings in the galley. The fresh water fittings are notriously leaky.
I have never used mine. Is there any special laundry detergent that is acceptable to pump into a marina? I am assuming this pumps overboard. Any other special guidance. Thanks.
I shipped a 2006 44 Sedan Bridge. Had to remove the arch, dash/helm, chairs, railings, throttles, smoked glass, etc. Basically everything that could be removed off of the bridge. Also had to remove the props and rudders.
Just installed a factory refurbished CMD5 unit replacing a CMD4. I had a Sirius SAT radio module running on the CMD4. I switched so I could add an Ipod interface. The Ipod interface is working great. Now the Sirius radio is not "updating". The display then changes to "invalid channel". The SAT...
