I'm sick of always fighting with the progress 1. We've replaced the finger and stud/spring once already and again its bent. I'm going to be putting on a Lewmar Pro 1000 and new chain/rode. I've had great luck with the pro 1000 I put on my last boat.
Anyone in the Georgian Bay area want the...
I'll be tackling my Simrad NSS7 Evo2 install in the next few weeks and will need a transducer. I'm just looking for depth and temp. I had a P66 with my C80 on the old boat and it worked well.
The 330 does have a TD in the hull from I'm guessing the old Raytheon "plotter" and I'm hoping I can...
"Dear ______________
Please accept my sincere apologies for not being able to attend your ____________. As you know, my passion is boating and spending as much time aboard as we can. Ontario's short boating season and the high costs associated with the boat to sit idle (unused for a weekend)...
Yep, hauled the boat yesterday for the season, noticed my starboard exhaust was missing! It appears its just plain fell off. Bet its not cheap to replace!
We'll be at Port Rawson in the Massassauga Park if anyone is in the area, We'll have a raft of 4-5 boats, look for us!
Where is everyone else going on the lakes this weekend?
Hey Folks,
We spent 10 days in our new to us 330 DA returning yesterday. We left Midland ON, spent 2 nights in Indian Harbour, then off to Britt ON via the small craft route. Refueled and provisioned and headed out across the bay to the Bad River anchorage at the north end of the bay. We were...
Had a vibration on the port side on purchase. When hauled the port prop looked like this:
Sent them off to United Propeller, then scanned and repaired, turn around was 3 business days (Nice!). Not a bad price at all, and they provided the scan paperwork. (Looks like greek to me) they said...
So, if anyone saw my other thread, we have an offer on a 1997 330 DA. It had an old Raytheon radar unit in the dash. I'd like to upgrade to a new unit, I'm only really familiar with Raymarine and an older Furuno unit (Wasn't impressed) What are your recommendations, and why?
I had a Garmin...

Launched on Sunday. Haven't been anywhere except the short jaunt from the ramp to my slip. Water temps are right at 60. If this weather keeps up it going to be a great swimming year!
Gelcoat was pretty chalky and faded, its been hit here and there over the years with various products.

So I coughed up the 115 bucks and grabbed this:
Grabbed the rotary and a beer or 3 and went to work.
I'm quite happy with the results on 25 year old gel.

So yes, my Norcold DC-230A is dying a slow death. I tore it out last night. The Norcold is 20 5/8 (H) x 15 3/8 (W) x 17 3/8 (D). I'd like a Vitifrigo, I understand they are getting good reviews here. Anyone in Canada sourced one? And model line better than others? built in cooling? remote...
Hi everyone.
I have a 1998 Merc. 2 stroke. I have noticed some things this season that I have questions about:
1- Had carb rebuilt/cleaned last summer. worked great. I winterized/fogged and stored in my garage for winter.
Summerized on a stand/water tank in the spring and no issues.
Ran great...

Our air conditioning has never worked since we purchased the boat. The compressor cycled but only blew ambient temp air. We lived with it last year. This year we figured we'd get it fixed. Called the only company around that does marine HVAC. (which usually means big bucks) tech showed up and...
Had the boat out of the water for some PM items, thought I'd strip the old 90's pin stripes, and the faded and cracked boot strip off and redo it.

And back where she belongs:
I work for a local municipality. Having a keen interest in boating, and all things nautical, I keep an eye on Marinetraffic.com every so often, as we have one industry in town that a ship comes into a few times a year. Our coverage is spotty here, there is one receiver owned by a local HAM...
Just some snaps a buddy and I took over the weekend. Georgian Bay Islands National Park. Its a large island with several dock sites and over 100 camping sites. Pretty much the only public island available to anyone on Georgian Bay.
Weather was great, water is still chilly at 68.
