We are visiting daytona for a week in November with our friends who have a condo there & have a couple of questions
1. I believe the Canadian operators card allows me to operate a boat in Florida also....just want to confirm it
2. We want to rent a boat there but not a pontoon boat or a...
89 340 express cruiser...the bottom stair to the galley is hinged & I am getting water in the compartment under those stairs. It can come in from either side & i know it isnt the port side where the fresh water pump is located as that area is reachable from the top & its always dry.
It really...
On the main sliding door from the cocpit to the galley there is a latch that locks it in the open position to prevent it slamming open & closed when in rough water. Mine is broken & if anyone has one new or used please let me know & thanks!

I had one running hotter than the other, switched gauges & same engine ran hot. Turned out to be the temperature sending unit. May want to check that first
Don't wince now..... a soaked SOS pad works wonders. It doesn't scratch the glass, just clean it normally afterwards. We use it in the auto industry also for removing overspray from glass after a vehicle has come out of a body shop....you know that fine stuff that creeps under the paper.

I have posed a lot of water leak questions on this forum so I am not pretending to be the voice of experience. I had many water leaks & was able to fix them all over time with a lot of help from some great people here. Even though mine is a 340 many of the same fixes apply

This one was really close to home....the next marina to us at the gas dock. I believe it was an older carver, just fuelled up & blew the lid right off the boat, propelled two in the water & one on the dock causing serious injuries
I was told that he had engine work done the day before & was...
When I operate the windlass it will initially start feeding the anchor downwards but it stops. The motor stays running but it stops feeding. Now it takes two people....one to operate the switch & the other at the bow to assist by pulling the rope out. It will come all the way up by itself but...

There is a boat for sale, a 1992 440 DA. The lady selling it unfortunately lost her husband early this year
It has twin Cummings diesels & at this point I don't know much else about it exept that it is extremely well taken care of. Am going to make arrangements to view it this week

My mechanic has earned a recommendation here. Some things I do myself but other things are best left to the right guy.....& he is the right guy. Honest, more than fair & certainly knows what he is doing from the lift out to winterizing, storage & all repairs. He gets it done quick & right the...

I removed two portlight windows on the port side as they were leaking. One...
Would like to give this fine gentleman a mention here on this board. Have had a few telephone conversations with him this week & I want to say what a fine guy he is. So willing to give of his time, so eager to assist & then goes above and beyond (should I say overboard ? lol)
Seriously Rusty A...
