I would check NGKs website - I thought their heat ranges were opposite of what were used to. BPR4 is hotter than BPR6, but my memory is cloudier than it used to be. Also kohler had a problem w/ choke pull-off piston getting stuck in its bore causing rich running, fouled plugs, surging under...
After winterizing boats for many years, I have found that if they were fully charged when put away and we disconnected at least one battery cable, 90% of the batteries load tested ok in the spring. However if the were low on charge, allowed to discharge, or left connected (even with the battery...
You can call a marinemax dealer with the info and they can do a search. If any mmax dealer in the country has one on the shelf, they can transfer one for you. In NJ call MMAX brick 732-840-2100 x11430 or 11431.
why dont you add a #2 battery and new switch, dont wire anything to battery #2 and keep switch on 1 while away. If #1 is dead switch to #2 start engine. Shut down and switch to both to charge. It is probably a good idea anyway to have two batteries. Just a thought
This is true. And i can attest they do honor that amazing warranty. Ask me how I know. Unfortunately for us up here in the northeast, we dont have year round boating. Usually 3 months. Every weekend counts. By the time you haul the boat, confirm drive damage and file a claim, then wait for...
Personally I would go with the merc drive for the reliability. I have installed many SEIs at my previous employers marina due to the price issue (alot cheaper) but you get what you pay for. I think the reliability has much to do with 1. driver habit 2. vessel weight. 3. load and correct prop(s)...
the tach drive has an access hole where a cable connects to the distributor and spins a mechanical tachometer. mostly used in vintage automobiles. Definetly not desirable for a boat.
