Finally replacing the seadek on my swim platform after 4+ years. The seadek on the covered deck still looks like new after 4+ years, so being exposed to sunlight/outside elements constantly lessens the life from what I have experienced.
With that said... love the product, and will always have...
I only saw water in there when it rained with the cockpit cover off, so I started with the windshield. Re-bedded the entire windshield and that stopped the water buildup. Definitely a 2 person job! My plan was to re-seal each component at a time until the water stopped coming in. (windshield...
Looks like a very clean boat, but she is a salty! Make sure the engines are thoroughly inspected. I also wonder if the manifolds/Risers were changed out as a cautionary measure or caused by a failure. Best of luck!
To answer your second question, yes the code will be recorded in the historical record of the ECM. I have had a dealer check mine in the past to trace back an alarm.
Check the mid bilge for signs of water accumulation. The 270s have a habit of leaking water from the windshield/side window areas into the cabin bilge and can be a pain to track down and fix. I hope it works out for you, I really enjoyed my 270 when I had it!
I have read that the manufacturer recommends that the engine be running when the windlass is used, If you run the windlass with a near dead battery you can fry the control box. Just some food for thought
I was in your exact position. I had replaced the actuator with little improvement. I then disconnected the steering cable from the actuator to test the resistance in the cable, which turned out to be fine. The process of elimination took me to the pump.
When I ordered through them for my '98 270, they were able to send me a picture of the carpet layout to confirm it was correct. You should be able to ask for this just to confirm it matches to your boat.
I had the same problem with my power steering in my '98 7.4L. I took the power steering pump off the engine and took it to carquest, they rebuilt it for about $30 and fixed the steering became smooth again. There was a lot of crud built up in the pump and the mechanic told me to install a...
Whelp, gave in and bought a new control box... working great now! Although trying to utilize the same mounting holes in the anchor locker was fun :smt009
Hi Guys, I searched the threads but could not find the exact issue. After splashing this year, I went on the hook using the windlass and when time to leave tried to have the windlass pull up the anchor. I heard a click coming from the Windlass each time I pressed the up button on the dash switch...
I upgraded to the M303 last season with the MW1. The wiring harness was the same. Unfortunately the old remote extensions no longer work with the new systems, you will need the updated one.
Hi all. I am doing a stereo project and am trying to get behind the switch panel in the cabin. I can't seem to find any way to get back there. Has anyone had success removing the panel? Thanks!!

I leave my batteries from a full charge all winter in the off position, come back in the spring and they are still around ~12.5 volts. I don't think 6 weeks will be a worry as long as they are fully charged when you leave
