    SeaDek

Finally replacing the seadek on my swim platform after 4+ years. The seadek on the covered deck still looks like new after 4+ years, so being exposed to sunlight/outside elements constantly lessens the life from what I have experienced. With that said... love the product, and will always have...

    purchasing a 1998 270 sundancer

I only saw water in there when it rained with the cockpit cover off, so I started with the windshield. Re-bedded the entire windshield and that stopped the water buildup. Definitely a 2 person job! My plan was to re-seal each component at a time until the water stopped coming in. (windshield...

Thoughts on this 2003 260 Sundancer

Looks like a very clean boat, but she is a salty! Make sure the engines are thoroughly inspected. I also wonder if the manifolds/Risers were changed out as a cautionary measure or caused by a failure. Best of luck!

Engine alarm only when on plane

To answer your second question, yes the code will be recorded in the historical record of the ECM. I have had a dealer check mine in the past to trace back an alarm.

    purchasing a 1998 270 sundancer

Check the mid bilge for signs of water accumulation. The 270s have a habit of leaking water from the windshield/side window areas into the cabin bilge and can be a pain to track down and fix. I hope it works out for you, I really enjoyed my 270 when I had it!

    Windlass "click"

I have read that the manufacturer recommends that the engine be running when the windlass is used, If you run the windlass with a near dead battery you can fry the control box. Just some food for thought

    Power steering stiff

I was in your exact position. I had replaced the actuator with little improvement. I then disconnected the steering cable from the actuator to test the resistance in the cable, which turned out to be fine. The process of elimination took me to the pump.

    1999 270 Sundancer Cockpit Carpet

When I ordered through them for my '98 270, they were able to send me a picture of the carpet layout to confirm it was correct. You should be able to ask for this just to confirm it matches to your boat.

    Power steering stiff

I had the same problem with my power steering in my '98 7.4L. I took the power steering pump off the engine and took it to carquest, they rebuilt it for about $30 and fixed the steering became smooth again. There was a lot of crud built up in the pump and the mechanic told me to install a...

    Progress 1 Windlass Problem

Hi Guys, I searched the threads but could not find the exact issue. After splashing this year, I went on the hook using the windlass and when time to leave tried to have the windlass pull up the anchor. I heard a click coming from the Windlass each time I pressed the up button on the dash switch...

    Rebedding rails and cleats

Personally, it is crazy to find these types of issues on such newer boats. Is SR getting skimpy on the use of sealant when manufacturing??

    Question on batteries and charging

I leave my batteries from a full charge all winter in the off position, come back in the spring and they are still around ~12.5 volts. I don't think 6 weeks will be a worry as long as they are fully charged when you leave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
