    official 290 Amberjack thread

Just purchased an '05 last September. Love this boat! My only issues revolve around the raymarine e80 system. The radar was s not working and I'm not sure it's even hooked up. Anyone have one of these units? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    290 amberjack radar arch removal

I brought my amberjack home to store in my barn for the winter and now realize that it is taller than my 12' door. So I either have to have have a new, taller door put in, or try to temporarily remove the arch in order to fit through the door. Has anyone ever attempted to remove the arch? If...

any opinions on the 1989 Sea Ray 220cc

I had a 89 220 cc for 5 years. What a great versatile boat! It's big enough to handle some lake Erie chop but yet easy to trailer anywhere. We ended up in our current 93 270 weekender which has a very similar layout, just a bit bigger

Stiff steering to start the season

We splashed a few weeks ago and the steering is very stiff. If I turn it all the way to the left then all the way to the right a few times it seems to get better. But, it will stiffen up again over a little time. The fluid looks good and the right level. Any ideas?

Health Insurance Cost for Self Employed Family of 4

Wife, 2 kids and myself...$6000 individual/ $11,000 family deductible was around $730/ mo. We just found out that our rates are going up 49%... It is absolutely absurd. We have spent 38k, out of pocket, in health insurance between premiums and deductibles over the past 24 months due to my 36...

    Our Heroines

My wife, at age 37 had a double mastectomy in February after being diagnosed. She is the strongest woman I know. Now my mother just had a biopsy done yesterday after suspicious spots were discovered on her mammogram. she should know the results within a few days. Cancer sucks.

    270 weekender aft jump seat

Thanks. Been away for a bit so just getting back. I ended up finding the replacement hinges. That is all that broke for me. I originally considered replacing the whole seat, but have had second thoughts. This seat is put away on our boat 90% of the time so I am leaving well enough alone. By...

    other 1991 250 weekender owners??

I think is the same as the 1993 270 weekender that I have. Somewhere along the way, sea ray changed the way they measured/ named boats. Check the sea ray website and look at the 1993 270 weekender. We love the boat. Do a lot of fishing in lake Erie and it handles the rough lake well. Plus...

Catawba Island to Geneva on the Lake

Thanks for all of the advice. I have been across the lake to Eireou (50 +/- miles) before fishing but never that far east. I was guessing 4+ hours. Even though I would love to visit Geneva, I may have to re-think the length of trip. Not sure if my kids can stay occupied that long! I know...

Catawba Island to Geneva on the Lake

I am considering taking my family on a cruise from our home port on Catawba over to Geneva on the Lake this up coming week. Has anyone here made this trip before? If so, how long of a cruise would it be? Weather will be a deciding factor whether we try this or not, but thought I would get some...

cid:F7BEA868-A068-4576-B507-0A7B04A17895/270%2520seat%2520pic.jpg The legs on my standard at jump seat broke yesterday as my 6'4 240 father was sitting on the fold out aft seat and we hit a 3' wave. What would you do to revive the US economy?

There are many problems with this scenario, but I will start with the racial undertone of the names chosen... As far as my business goes, jose and joe both pay the same taxes, etc. because I make sure they are deducted at the required rates. No one receives cash payments. They both have the...

    Boat trailer shopping help

I recently purchased a 1993 270 weekender and would like to find a trailer to be able to haul it out and store it for the winter. I was advised by the broker I purchased the boat from to contact boat wheels in Huron OH but I would like to find a used trailer. Does anyone know a good place to...

Advice: twin 4.3L or single 7.4

Thank you EricW. This is the exact information I was looking for. Is there a website you can go for that type of information? Question though...Sea Ray has the weekender listed at 26'8" w/o the pulpit, so by your comments, I assume that length must include the swim platform as well? Because...

Advice: twin 4.3L or single 7.4

Thanks for the reply. So the fuel consumption would be about the same? I thought maybe the 4.3's would be a little better.
