    Tunnel/pockets on 80's 300's & 340's

I have a '79 EC with big block Chryslers and it doesn't have tunnel pockets. I like having the engines mid-ship which allows the boat to plane out easier and I don't have to run the engines as fast as the DA model. Depending on how much of a load I'm carrying or which way I'm cruising on the...

Ever see a Sea Ray walkaround fishing boat ??

It was called an Amberjack and to my understanding they only made them for two years in either a I/O or outboard version. The local Sheriff's used them for law enforcement. I have a '76 with a 260 mercrusier, 20 ft.

    1978 240 Weekender

There should be a button at the pivot point of the throttle lever to keep the boat in neutral and allow you to work the throttle(carburetor) only. Depress the button and move the lever forward, please note the button should stay depressed once you move it forward. At that point you can pump the...

    My $500 270DA.

I've taken a course thread drywall screw and threaded it into the center of the plug and most of the time the threads pulled it out or at least split it enough that I could remove it without damaging the surrounding wood.

    Ignition Timing Question

With that distributor you set the base timing at idle and the advance curve is controlled by the ignition module. Otherwise your fighting the module when attempting to time the engine at speed.

Older SeaRay no bilge in the cabin?

All of the foam has been removed from my boat since 1991 which was holding water. I had to repair wood rot in one of the stringers and added a couple of cross braces in the process. From the factory my boat has two pumps, one near the front of the engines which are mid-ship and the other is at...

    Ignition Timing Question

The weights will be underneath the plate shown in the picture. Grab the rotor and try and rotate it CW, it should spring back to it's at rest position freely. They can get gummed up and sticky.

    Winter Moisture Control

I use a couple of coffee cans in the cabin, I pierce holes around it and fill it with regular charcoal, not the match lite stuff. It's always worked well for me, though I use framing with a tarp to cover the boat, which gives you decent ventilation over shrink-wrap.

    Anybody ever experience a hernia?

I had the laparoscopic procedure done as well and was back on my feet and resumed most regular activities in 2 - 3 days. As the doctor said I might feel a tug once in a while were he did the repair, which I do if I lift something heavy. Get it done, it can become a dangerous condition.

Awesome Product to Re-dye Vinyl Seats

I used Dupli-Color spray on my deck chair with great results. There were mold stains on the chair when I bought it from a garage sale and expected they would bleed through but, they didn't. We sit in it with wet bathing suits all the time with no staining on our back side and that's with a full...

    What have you done?

Once I removed all of the trim work the only spot I had to trim flush was on the port side where the bulkhead met the hull that separated the V-berth area from the galley. Due to time constraints I didn't to the V-berth this year, that is my next interior project. I plan to start removing the...
