completely agree that hr meters are bs but at first glance they provide a lot of direction based info. I love low hr engines but i also dont want a 10 yr old boat with 187 hours. Gotta get those props turning or **** goes bad...fast
Found a solid looking 390 with diesels, well maintained upholstery as well as the engines. My question is 1250 hours on diesels for a 10 yr old boat. The broker tells me that's not high for diesels, if it was gas i'd be running for the hills. I've always been under the impression that once you...
the more I think about it and the more I read I think about it the 410 or 420 is what would probably suit us best. Thanks for all the replies, they were very helpful. Wish me luck finding one. I'm in Miami and hoping to find a great one around here but am tempted to go looking around TN and...
currently on a 2005 320 but now looking to upgrade. The family keeps growing so now's the right time. is something in the 36-38 range much of a leap in size, re seating upstairs and downstairs? I know once I get to 40 the difference is noticeable but I'm not so sure with something just a few...
Bottom's clean although she does live in the water, props were checked and balance not too long ago, not sure on the plugs and wires. I'll check the logs. Mechanic does a good job logging everything. Thanks for the suggestions
The boat's not producing power like she used. I know that she's gonna lose a little over the years. When i run WOT, around 4100rpm i feel like the boat could run harder, maybe get up to 44-4500. She used to get more but I'll give the old girl a break. could it possibly be the throttle cables...
As a noob you should be told now, boat speedos are the worst. they barely ever work. That's why i switched my to show the speed off of the GPS. Enjoy your boat
i had that problem about 2 yrs ago where i thought she was clean but was pretty fouled up. this time i know it's good cause i have some underwater pics from the diver(which every diver should do). My mech is out ther and seems to think it's a spark plug/wire issue. I'll report back when i get...
It's not an overprop issue. Boat was producing more power at WOT than earlier in the day but she wasn't giving 100%. I know that at WOT i should be getting closer to 5k rpm's
Bottom is clean, i just had the diver out 2 weeks ago. As far as the clogged filters, i don't believe that's the problem as my temp would've gone way up. It runs between 158-161.
My issues were the starter and fuel pump. Nothing major
So i took out my 320 yesterday for a cruise on biscayne bay. She started up fine and motored away from the dock just fine. When i went to get her up and going she wasn't producing enough power to get on plane. The RPM's never got over 3.8k at full throttle. I backed off and went again and i got...
have you tried turning on the amp? without it on you'll only get sound in the cabin and maybe some faint sounds in the cockpit out of one of the speakers
Picked up the boat from the yard where she was getting her bottom painted. Batteries were off for the week, not plugged into shorepower. Fired her up fine, took her out for a cruise and returned home. Followed the usual procedures of shutting her down and connecting to shore power.
Went to the...
Getting the boat hauled out and painted this week. Any suggestions on some good bottom paints that will help deter growth and make it easy to remove?
Also any suggestions for the props. Speed paint?
Thanks
boat's been sitting for about a month. scrubbing the bottom is one at the top of my list but the diver comes pretty consistently. I'm waiting to hear back from him.
When you ran yours, was your engine getting overheated? I 'was pushing hard for a while but my temp remained at its usual op temp...
Went out for a cruise yesterday, boat started up fine and idled out of the marina no problems. once i got out of the manatee zone and throttled up to get going neither engine was producing the necessary power to get on plane. both engines were maxing around 3300-3400 rpm. We usually cruise at...
