I have an 09 205 Sport 5.0LMPI and Alpha leg. Mine has done it since new and I have had 2 dealers look at it and both can't find a thing wrong. It hasn't changed in 70hrs so I am not too alarmed and is much better with the hi-five prop installed as well. My 08 195 with the 4.3MPI and alpha was...
Actually the tower is made by Extreme Tower Products or XTP. You should still be able to see the serial number on a sticker somewhere on it. 210's and 230's both have that double loop tower.
I have had those same speakers for just over a year now and the outer ring in the foam of the speaker is...
Hi Five has much less bow lift plus you can play with the vent plugs to get more RPM on launch and get the engine to its power band quickly resulting in quicker hole shots.
My boat needs a 19P prop and after not being satified with the 19P Hi-5, I just installed a 17P Hi-5. What a difference...
It could have, but seeing as the props were both Vegeance 19P units and I kept my 19P hi-five I would say that wasn't it. Gear ratio in the Alphas was the same as well.
Thanks.
As for owning a 195 Sport with the 4.3 MPI 220hp and now a 205 with the 5.0 MPI 260hp I can tell you the 195 was much more the performance boat. 195 had faster top speed and got out of the water quicker, I wanted more than the 195 and thought I was moving up with more power and only 400lbs extra...
Waiting to hear the responses, as I have the same questions and would also like more top speed. I don't think the 5.0L mpi has enough power and is propped right for my boat.
Was just looking at the boat yesterday and was thinking the switch would hide nicely right above the 5.0mpi badge under the sunpad where the blower vents are. Does it say the switch cannot be mounted horizontally?
I think I would stick with the darker colored cover but would recommend not trailering with support poles as these will go up and down with the buffeting of the cover at hi-way speeds. Have heard stories of the poles hammering out the boats floor.
I thought the quicksilver version did not have the PVS(performance vent system).
This works great for fine tuning your holeshot as you can change the diameter of the vent holes in the prop to increase or decrease exhaust gasses around the prop blades. The prop spins up much faster in the bubbles...
Sorry for the late reply, no notification :smt021
My Bimini wraps around the top of the tower, lots of room for everything and goes forward. This is the factory installed Bimini and tower.
I am going to say yes if you have the Sony stereo system. I added this to my boat and can control songs from both locations, but.. cannot track forward only backwards from either remote:huh:
Anybody have a factory installed Perfect Pass system on their 205 Sport? Was thinking of adding it and want to make it look as factory installed.
Thanks in advance!
*really interested in seeing where the display is mounted. Doesn't show up in the original wiring diagrams or service info with...
Love to see what you come up with! Pondered that same question myself, why go to a 5.7 for an extra 40hp when you could go more, always heard how strong a 383 stroker chevy was, should work great in a boat, would worry about the fuel mapping for sure.
The Fission tower is a little beefier and lower profile. It is also available with a z5 sport rack which mounts your towables or boards above your head as it rotates to be able to access them.
Hey,
Let me add yet another 205 owner to the list.:smt038
My full load(but no perfect pass :( ) 09 that I created my own Fission pkg on.
Love the boat but would much prefer it with a 5.7L or larger!
Hi all I might lurk around here for a bit and see if I can help out and pose the odd question myself .
On my second Sea Ray, first was a 195, and then when I was looking for a little more power I couldn't find a new one,(195) dealers were uncertain if they were going to be built so I...
