Lake Lanier definitely benefited from the recent rains (much to the discomfort of Atlanta!). Before the recent deluge, the lake level was hoovering around 1064' on its way down from a spring time high of 1067' or so. Today, we are at approximately 1069'. That's a 5' rise in water level for a...
Paddy's Marine Services - captpaddy@gmail.com - very reliable and reasonable. Tell him Lewis referred you. The guy used to dock in a slip next to mine on J-Dock at Holiday Marina.
I'm not sure if this horse is dead yet, but, let me try to beat it some more.
I purchased a brand new 2006 LR3 HSE (the successor to the Disco) and paid +$50K for it. Just got rid of it for less than $20K. 3 years old and around 45,000 miles. I have never had a bigger piece of crap in my...
Welcome to the site and good luck on picking out your new boat. It certainly seems to be a buyers market. If you're ever at Holiday Marina, come on by. I'm on "J" dock.
Welcome to the site. It's great to see our lakes water level rise!
Lots of great info here. Be sure to post boat type and location in your sig. Really helps when you're requesting help with a problem.
Help/Advice please. Two weekends ago, we had a "clog" in our head system which required the use of plunger. Worked well for the rest of the weekend.
We return to the boat this weekend and the head won't work at all. The breaker trips within 2 seconds of a reset.
Any ideas on the problem?
Completely understood. What you have to understand is that most (all?) of us here in the US already pay a form of VAT called local sales tax!
We're already double and triple taxed over here as well. The reality is the country cannot simply continue to spend like we are.
Well, I'm glad to hear that weather from the Chesapeake up to Maine and over to the Great Lakes was tolerable! The Memorial Day weekend down here is the traditional transition to summer. Highs in the low 80's usually.
I spent the weekend cleaning parts of the boat that I didn't know could get...
Well, the family and I were able to spend our first full weekend on the boat over the Memorial Day holiday. Not sure about the rest of you in the Southeast, but, on our little bit of water on Lake Lanier, the entire weekend was a letdown!
Cloudy and rain. I know we need the rainfall, but...
I've seen some comments on the difficulty in dealing with Durabak. Here's a site with some application advice. I'm going to give it a try this week.

I have the same problem and have to say that I have had no luck with any of the recommendations on the forum. It truly is like the black stuff is cooked in to the non-skid.:smt021
You may want to take a look at this thread - lots of good discussion on the topic...
You read my mind. And guess what, bears actually do s%$t in the woods! I'm all about protecting the environment, but, I really think this takes the position a little too far!
I find the comments on Progressive to be somewhat surprising. While I have not made a claim, they have been extremely efficient and pleasant to deal with. I have seen posts on someone who knows someone who had problems, but, anyone out there with personal experience working with them?
I have...
Well, I have satellite TV and I suppose I had the money:huh:
What's your point? I was just trying to be helpful on what has worked for me. I didn't personally find the Glomex to be very useful. I assume it depends on where you boat.
