Update, potential problem has been resolved, it ended being a simple prop issue. Had both props, they were not cupped. Had them cup the props and now the boat performs great. The top speed now is 37-38 mph WOT. This was with a very light load, 1/4 tanks of fuel , no fresh water, and no gear on...
Yes, RPM was 2350 at WOT, no ideas about what the fuel flow, was no fuel flow meters that I am aware of. Boat is being surveyed this week, we'll see what he has to say about it.
Hey guys,
I am in the process of possibly purchasing a 2001 510 Sundancer. We were able to take it out for a sea trial this past Friday, in my opinion the boat was under performing. Is there anybody familiar with this particular boat that would know what we should be getting for top speed? WOT...
I have a set of Nautley davits on my 380DA for my 310 Quicksilver, they work great and look good. I have since bought a 380YL Zodiac center console, this dinghy is far too big and heavy for the Nautley's so we no longer use them. Unless we decide to take the 310 on a trip, otherwise I don't...
Inconvenience them??? That's their job, they should take you for a short sea trial if you're interested in purchasing, a sea trial doesn't mean you bought it. Otherwise I'd shop elsewhere.
Yeah, that'll work good, Wolf should have a slip available for the weekend.
The weather forecast doesn't look too great, we'll be coming up and maybe heading back to the marina a couple of the nights, we'll see. We dock in Bayport, where do you dock at?
We don't really go to shore anymore since the city cut off the shore parking.
We only go to shore to pick people up.
Kind of a bummer, we liked being able to go into town. Stillwater is generally not very
Boater friendly
There is no water taxi and I do not recall there ever being one. The City of Stillwater is very strict about not letting boats come to shore. We use our dinghy to go to shore and every year we have hard time finding a spot to pull in and park.
The fireworks are on again this year (Sunday...
We were at the MM Getaway this past weekend, I was discussing the Aquapalooza event with the organizer for Hudson bay. They have just over a hundred boats and five hundred people registered for this years event.
I'll be there.
They're going try to tie the boats in a large circle this year...
As far as I know Aquapalooza is on up here in the north end of the country. We where just at a MM getaway this past weekend and we were discussing our Aquapalooza plans.
Late response....... sorry, Our new favorite spot for dinner is Pier 500 in Hudson. It's the first place you come to when you walk off the public dock in Hudson.
Cabana Joe's is a good drinking spot, not great food, if you can get a slip there you can stay the night if you need to..... if you...
Congrats on your new boat! Where did you buy at?
Have you run through the locks in the past? It's only about a 4 hour trip, depending on how you hit those locks. Barge triffic can slow you down a bit.
We went from Stillwater to LaCrosse a few years ago, did it in about 8 hours, but hit...
As far as the leak goes, it can be easy, but it depends on if you can actually find the leak and where the leak is located.
Small leaks can be very difficult to find and If the leak is down in a corner or in a tight spot, it can be very difficult to repair.
Yeah, That S..ks! I agree with you, they should be taking care of this reguardless of your extended warrenty. But you have an extended warrenty there should no question about it.
Although I've never owned a boat that had any warrenty, so I'm not sure about the fine print on that.
So, who...
I replaced mine about three years ago with a grey plastic imatation wood. I bought it from this company, http://plasteak.com/, they sold me a 4 x 8 x 1/2" sheet and cut it into 4 - 2 x 4 pieces for shipping.
The stuff I got has a nice nonskid surface, worked out great, better than the...
Rocket,
I've never had any problems with my setup, I do leave my motor on when tipped up. It is a 2 stroke moter, 2004 Merc 15Hp, though I do know you can tip some 4 strokes up if they are laying on a curtain side, usually with the tiller arm down I believe. You'd have to do some research on...
On a 420 Sundancer you would have drop the brackets down, I have a couple friends with 420's, I know this boat well, though none of them have the Weaver setup.
Here's a couple pictures of my setup.
