Hi guys,
Something that's been bugging me for a while now is the passenger seat on my boat seems to be positioned too far back, and unlike my seat it can not be adjusted forward/backward.
I've been thinking of re-positioning but believe I would have to completely re-mount and drill new holes...
I'd agree with the last post. Had the stock Al prop on my 175 sport when I bought it. Luckily for me I hit a submerged object. (Didn't think so at the time). Did a lot of reading and speaking to prop specialists and then managed to get my hands on a high 5 (blade). Wow
Hole shot is excellent...
Well guys I've now tried the 21 high five for a few weeks and its running great. Spins up to speed and gets on the plane within a few seconds and continues well up to 40mph. (checked with gps.) Also much between turning 'circle' without dropping out. Would recommend it to everyone.
I've been playing with a 21pitch high five this week as my boat came with a 21 aluminiumwhen I bought it even though I've now checked with sea ray and they state it should be a 19. However, it spins up well, gets on the plane within seconds and still gets up to 40mph (Checked with gps). And the...
Dutchman,
I hear what Blaster is saying about your question and indeed it is an anode but I have the same boat as you and I have the fin you are talking about and indeed like you I also have powered steering.
I'm not suggesting Blaster is incorrect, but thought it worthwhile responding to...
That's interesting, you say your boat came with a 19" prop. Mine came with a 21" Al prop. Unfortunately I've not played too much with my boat as I only purchased it late last year and don't use in the winter months. And sod's law came a knocking last weekend, in that I struck something totally...
I had exactly the same worry as you, so I've created something myself. I've cut a section out of an offcut of a piece of uPVC (what we use for window cills in the UK) and screwed (using very small screws) a popper male on one side and female on the other. This now works great and I've never had...
I had a similar dilema to you as I've got the 175sp. With almost exactly the same dash. In the end I decided to make some stand-off brackets and mount it in the starboard pocket just by my knee. If I get a chance tomorrow i'll take a pic. I've also decided to mount the antenna off the bimi cover...
Thanks for you comment rcknecht, but I already have a fixed VHF which I would like to install. Better reception, DSC facility and one less thing to 'float' around the boat when we are out.
Just to keep you al lupdated, I'm having a bit of a problem getting a Humminbird. Looks like nobody in...
Thanks guys, I'll have to check behind the dash to see if there is anything in the way. Knowing my luck there will be.
Also thanks for the comments on the depth gague, I'll do a bit of searching.
Cheers
Mikey
Guys,
Firstly I like to say, what a great site. I've spent the last few days reading numerous posts and gaining more vital knowledge.
I've recently purchased a 2008 175 sport and need to install a Navman 7100 VHF. Can any one help with a suitable location that doesn't get knocked, and is...
