Loading, Unloading, Parking Sundancer 240 Alone

I load and unload my 290 by myself as well as head out into the Great Lakes alone for salmon/trout, walleye and perch. No issues. Like wyrman says, don't be in a hurry. If there's a breeze, always use it to your advantage even if it means sitting in the channel for a bit while the upwind...

JonE, I want to say around 25-26MPH is right around 3300-3500 R's.. roughly. It's been a while since I looked and my memory isn't great...lol. WFO she's ticking right around 4800.

Hey! I'm not sure of the BIII's gear ratio, but the props are 14-3/8" x 20P When I had our boat surveyed, the surveyor was really impressed with the power and handling of this boat. He actually noted in the comments that the boat was "amazingly spirited for it's weight and size"....LOL.

I have the exact boat you are inquiring about. We purchased ours in June of 2019 and have put over 500hrs on her since purchased. In short, we absolutely love it! We have the 1998 290DA with the 454 MPI Horizon, Bravo III dual prop outdrive. She sits on a 16,000 lbs BoatWheels tri-axle...

No sure where you are located. If near Michigan, I would remove it and bring it to Mid Michigan Fiberglass or Envision Boat Works. You could probably ship it to them too. They are phenomenal!

Hey John. 1. I'm sure the emergency bilge pumps only work when your battery power is hooked up. 2. Not sure on this one. Maybe the switch is corroded? 3. These work great for adding blue tooth to the older automotive stereos. I have not tried this on the boat yet, but it should work...

    Recall Gretchen Whitmer - Michigan

I'm sure it's for another rush hour lane that will be closed most of the time. Note the stupid rush hour lane on US 23 around Ann Arbor. What a dumb waste. I'm not really sure who re-elected this (if she was even truly elected).

Yeah, you just want to bump the tabs and let her settle in, then bump again, repeat until you get her at the attitude you prefer. Never push and hold….lol

We had lots of mornings just like you described on our ole 268. Kids sitting at the table eating breakfast, wife up reading a book, and me curled up in my spot with coffee taking it all in. Most comfortable boat I ever owned! Loved those days!

Simply pull the seats out and that long cushion piece fills in along the wall. Pull the table and store the post, open the table up and it sits down on a ledge between the two seats. There are a couple fill cushions that sit on top of the table to complete the bed.

If you are easy on and off the throttle, the Alpha drive should last you a long time. I put the 16x16 “elephant ear” prop on it. Huge improvement to keeping her on plane at low rpm’s. Had the best night sleeps on our ‘88 268!! Great boats!! Our rear bench was in tact and fully functional...

    SD 290 - 1998 - Does Anyone recognize these 2 interior panels?

Are they exactly the same size? The solid one looks like the panel located in the aft cabin that seals off the AC/Heat unit located under the steps. The other one looks like a different version of that same panel that may have had a vent or mirror in it at one time...?? EDIT: Whoops, I see...

I do mine every other season (roughly every 140 hrs). I think recommendation is every 100 hrs, but I do a lot of trolling so I consider that idling hours that are not hard on the drive. Never had an issue.

Joakim, I’m not sure that one will work. I think you need to be no more than 9.25 inches tall. That is, unless you are handy with a saw and hammer and want to reconfigure that whole area. That’s up to you, but I think that would be a big job.

In addition, I like to run the 10 micron Sierra filters. They seem to keep the stuff out of the fuel system better than the 25 micron filters from Merc.
