Regarding the Sept 11th comment. I certainly can't speak for all the residents of Florida, but during the week that we were there 11-18th, we didn't encounter anyone as upset as us. In fact, we cancelled several of our scheduled fishing and diving excursions and the operators couldn't understand...
3-foot slab of aluminum = $1500.00.
Does anybody out there think that there could be some profit to work with?
And let me assure you that neither I nor anybody I know at the jersey shore has received a penny of the kindly funds donated for the relief effort.

Sensible post. Again, I think that most of the problem here was the misinterpretation that I was seeking a bargain or discount on something. Once that opinion was expressed the board just ran with it.
Finally, a NJ guy with some sense. Rcknecht, I really couldn't care less about the money. In fact, I've already replaced the ramp with something I like a little better (has a handrail). I really considered this more of a public service message about an unscrupulous company. The reaction from...
Apparently I hadn't considered that Michigan is a big Union state that believes a slab of aluminum is worth $1500.00. Don't worry, I'll continue to pay huge New Jersey taxes to support your government bailouts.
Mark,
I'll be the first to agree with you that the fundamental purpose of a business is to create as much profit as the market allows. I constantly preach that "the consumer is king". With that said, the practice of price gouging is still unfair and illegal. Just because a disaster takes...
For some clarity: the cost of the original ramp was 1200.00, now its 1500.00. It's a 3-ft slab of aluminum with a hinge at the end. No discounts, no bargains. I'm certain that aluminum hasn't skyrocketed 25% I clearly did not ask for a free replacement, or a discounted ramp. I only expressed...
I recently contacted boardingramp.com regarding a ramp I purchased shortly before hurricane Sandy dismantled our lives. I sent them this letter:
Jeff,
I purchased a boarding ramp from you in the spring of 2012. I'm sorry to say that my ramp was lost to hurricane Sandy, and I am in need of two...
My son and I went to the show today, and frankly, were very disappointed in the new Sundancer 280. The deck and cockpit areas seemed very meager (looked like the deck of a fishing boat), and the cockpit lacked any kind of style whatsoever. I spoke with a few other manufacturers about what I saw...
Southern passage through inlet is wide, deep, and pretty easy to navigate. You can get in/out on the north side if you hug the land (avoid the breakers).
Take the boat! It'll take a little over an hour to get to Atlantic City (stop and enjoy) then another 30 minutes to the Tuckerton Seaport. They have plenty of dockage for visitors, and lots of cool exhibits for adults and kids.
Thanks for all the advice. This is my first "fancy" boat and I really wasn't sure if I was going to electrocute myself and my family by plugging in up in the air.
As you can see by my profile pic, I keep my Sundancer 280 on a boat lift. I was curious if anyone knows of any issues I might need to be aware of by using the shore power for television, etc. while on the lift.
