I like the 340 as well-nice and roomy, I'm on a river near the St Lawrence, 1000 Islands area-340 is about as big as you'd want to get on the river here but they're nice for sure. As are the 390's of the same era.
Mine's on the hard 6 months of the year as well, I too remove the drives, inspect the bellows etc. service any trim tab issues. I have had friends that leave their drives on all winter under shrink wrap-however one guy had his go MIA.
I'd have to say that I've never had an issue getting into the ER of the 88, Engine access is reasonable and I have no gennie, so not a problem-neighbour seems to be able to access his 454's with no issue as I've seen him standing in his ER. I can get to the front of my engines no problem as they...
Thanks to everyone for the opinions. Have to say that I have 3 kids, so the aft cabin (?mid cabin) layout works nicely for me, however the kids are at the age when they are beginning to come out to the boat less often. The 310 EC lacks that aft cabin. Another consideration is fuel as the...
I did not mean to imply that I had V-drives, I have I/O's and I think you're right JVM 225, I've never seen one with V-drives-don't think they ever came with them although the Weekender had inboards. His boat is very roomy inside (6'8" of headroom) but it just looks funny without the aft cabin...
My boat: '88 30 ft Sundancer, Dockmate's boat (next to mine) 91 310 Sundancer (no aft cabin).
Just curious about boat vs. boat-I'm no knowledgeable enough about the 310/330 models of the early 90's-my dockmate however, tells me that the 310/330 is a vastly superior model due to it's hull...
Thanks to both of you guys for your wealth of knowledge and for informing me of duct routing etc. I think if I can get someone to do the through hull holes for me, I can handle most of the rest of it with minimal help. I've done some web research on replacement units by Mermaid and...
Looking for a few parts for my 88 Sundancer 300. As difficult as it may be, I need a complete A/C and Heat unit for a retrofit-or at least the main parts of it. Also need Windlass motor. I suppose any from 85-89 would work. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks for both knowledgeable answers. I have seen pictures of the controls on the aft dinette seat but have not seen the unit or how much space it takes up (I currently store food in there). I'm afraid the job would be beyond my current skill level for doing it myself especially if it involves...
Would anyone have any experience or knowledge about retrofitting A/C, Heat to a 1988 Sea Ray Sundancer 300 that was not originally ordered with it (but was an option)?
I realize that its an expensive endevor. Thanks
Does anyone know of any Marine supplier/salvage that would have smaller parts for a 88 Dancer? ie rear foldown bench, cabin door locks, alcohol/electric stove, microwave stand and any other small interior parts? Thanks
Hello, A Newbie here, I have a question with regard to the Dinette Upholstery. Does anyone know how to remove the seat backs off of the wood back supports?
