    HVAC pan is leaking...

Hi Mark, The local paint store recommended Hammerite Rust Cap... Seems to be working well, after running the AC unit there is standing salt water in the pan (what a crappy design!!!) and no leaks yet. I put a bit too much paint on and when I tried to put multiple coats on sides of pan it...

    HVAC pan is leaking...

Hi Mark, I bought mine from local Dometic dealer, part numbers below, in the $225 range... Word of caution.... I ended up returning mine. I tore apart the whole forward berth and pulled the unit out only to find it really was not replaceable, at least for me. For one, the unit is riveted to...

    HVAC pan is leaking...

So my HVAC unit is leaking... It is just the pan under the unit, it is rusted and starting to leak under the forward berth. I found a supplier for the pan, about $200. Not a big cost but my bigger concern is unbolting the unit from the pan to replace. The bolts on the HVAC unit look pretty...

Alternator vs generator to charge batteries?

Dennis - good logic, run genie instead of big motors. So real question is while I am headed somewhere, does genie add additional charge or don't bother while both motors running?

Alternator vs generator to charge batteries?

Bsampica - good call on amp meter, good way to test. Figured someone might know which was quicker without testing. Bt Doctur - I do not have house and engine seperate. Two batteries supply port engine and cabin panel, one battery supplies starboard engine and helm. Not a good setup, can't...

Alternator vs generator to charge batteries?

Question on charging batteries.... I have twin motors and generator with AC convertor. Don't have shore power this year and want to know quickest way to charge batteries: 1) Is using motor alternators idling (sitting in slip) or generator with AC convertor faster charge? 2) if running both...

Stumped on trim tab electrical issue

Tom, Your issue sounds just like mine... For the "problem" button, when I pressed it, could sometimes hear a momentary click but then almost an immediate click as relay was released. The helm controller could no hold 12V open. Unlike Bennett tabs which uses the straight 5 wires between helm...

    300 Sundancer questions.

Sorry, jumping in a little late.... I have same setup as Jim, rod holder on the trunk. I put the grill in a plastic box (Target special) and set it on the batteries in the ER. Two small hooks on the plywood aft wall of the ER allows some bungy cords to keep it place. Plastic box gets...

2003 300 sundancer soft swiitch panel or EIM failure

I just replaced port side switched due to failure of starboard down on trim tabs. My conclusion after many hours of banging head against the wall is that using a "good" part to replace the potential "bad" part is ONLY solution. :smt021 One little freakin' button set us back $400. Shame is...

    300 Sundancer questions.

Re: Help!!! Mine lets a little water drain on starboard side towards stern and into rear of cockpit but very slowly, any leaves or anything get caught and forget it. I had lots of water in the storage area as well, re-caulked the front part of the storage area or at my feet in the helm area...

    300 Sundancer questions.

Hi Bill - Just about to order the bulbs for the directional / overhead lights. I know 18 LED is slightly taller than 15 but there would seem to be plenty of room in front of the lens and 18 would be brighter. Did you try the 18? 15 close to original brightness? Thanks and hope all is well...

    One tab won't go down

Conclusion: Correct switch pad finally arrived today and trim tabs now fully operational. The original switch pad had some minor cracks in the back which must have let water leak in and led to failure. During diagnostics, we did get the faulty switch to intermittently latch up relay in the...

    One tab won't go down

Update: Marina screwed up and sent wrong side of helm switches, so now I wait another's damn 5 days for sea ray to ship right switches to even see if it fixes the problem. Ahhhhhhh!!!!!! :smt021 We have good wind this spring and we were out the other day and felt like I was healing in a...

    One tab won't go down

Agreed! I heavily considered just running 5 wires to the helm and installing Bennett switch but did not want different switches at the helm than come stock from factory. I have new switch pad (to the tune of $400 clams) on it's way and we should know shortly if that is fix!!!

Check out the Bennett trim tab forum. There are a couple of good sticky forums that describe tab use. I learned quite a bit from them myself. http://clubsearay.com/forumdisplay.php/65-Bennett-Trim-Tabs-Vendor-Forum
