Tom,
The MarineBeam Link to "Perko Atwood Hella 31mm Festoon LED Replacement Bulbs" is http://store.marinebeam.com/perko-atwood-hella-31mm-festoon-led-replacement-bulbs/. Choose the options located on the right to get the forward (225 degrees) and aft (135 degrees) facing bulbs. I chose the...
The Searay 340DA uses a Perko Masthead Combo All Round Light 1181DP0CHR. $65-$75 for the entire assembly. If you are looking for a replacement bulb, then try MarineBeam.com. A 225 degree forward facing LED bulb is $20, and the 135 degree aft facing bulb is $10. I have been using these bulbs...
I think the 2005 340DA uses a Lofrans Project 1000 windlass that accepts 5/16” High Test or BBB chain spliced to 9/16” or 5/8” 3-strand nylon rope.
I replaced my 2001 340DA 20' 5/16 chain, 150' 5/8 line with:
R/C Rode, 50' x 5/16"HT Chain spliced to 200' x 5/8" Line...
ah64,
I’ve been down this road myself... The Ray star 125 is the best overall solution. The option you have is to upgrade the firmware on the RN300 to version 4.1x. The Ray star is about $130 + plus installation and the firmware upgrade will cost you an hour of your shop/rate. The reason I...
I had NBOA for five years before deciding to check for better rates just to be sure that mine were in the ball park. I found a company that was a few hundred $$ cheaper. I called NBOA and asked them if they could match the quote and they did. My total savings compared to BoatUS is about 42% :-)
Chief (Craig),
I was under the impression that the 340's w/8.1's after 2002 had 4 blade props... Interesting.
I have been thinking of going with 4 blade props on by 2002 340, but am concerned with loading down the engines. The 2002 does not have the same hull design as the 2003-2007...
I had the same problem with my 02' 340 w/8.1s engines. I had an engine compression test done to make sure that it was not a performance problem. It turned out that I had two bad plugs. Replaced all plugs and added some fuel injector cleaner to boot. The problem seems to be corrected.
The great thing about the Kicker KM613 speakers is that they have a 93db sensitivity and can handle 150 watts RMS. They will sound louder than your stock Clarion speakers and are able to handle a boat load of power if you choose to upgrade your cockpit amp. Be warned however that playing any...
If you are referring to the cockpit speakers, then the covers twist off to provide access to the four mounting screws. When I replaced mine I found that the speakers had fallen apart. I replaced mine with Sony XS-MP1620W marine speakers ($64 a pair). They sound great and the size and screw...
I have the same problem with the carpet backing sticking to the fiberglass surface and scrub the stuff off with a heavy brush and lot's of elbow grease. There is another thread that talks about covering the backing with the stuff you use on truck beds, but I'm not so sure about going that route...

Skip,
How's the debris south of mattowoman? I am heading south to Coles point with one of you old dock mates "Ryan's Hope" and was wondering how bad it is out there.
Micheal,
I have three kids, ages...
I connect a fender to the anchor line with a D-ring. This helps to mark the line for other boaters see and when it is time to leave, I swim or paddle out on my kayak and drag the fender towards the anchor. Usually, the fender has enough buoyancy to help release the anchor. If the anchor is...
I use the fortress FX-11. I use it as a rear anchor and sometimes use it at 30 degrees off the bow when I have wind and the current going different directions in sand or muddy conditions.

tawcat,
I have the same P.O.C. on my 02' 340 and it stopped finding enough satellites to get a fix about 1 1/2 years ago. I was going to have the antenna replaced with a Raystar 125, but the tech at my marina found that I just needed to upgrade the RN300 firmware to 4.10. Anyway, The Raystar...
