+1 on the panel breaker. If it is not tripped the aft deck hardtop lights are powered through a module that (in my 1996) is on the fwd wall of the cupboard in the aft deck wet bar. I can't see how shorting out an unrelated light would affect the module but...just for info.
I have done this replacement. It is easy and I would recommend it. The new unit is quieter and better made. The pan is composite. The only two issues I found were that the inlet and outlet hose positions are reversed from the 1996 version which required a short extension on one side and the...
My 42 Aft is the same vintage as yours. There is no valve. The over board discharge pump is Y'ed into the pump out line. The discharge pump is not a macerator but a left-hand thread version of the vacuum pump on the Vacuflush.
Before you go too far with the alternators check whether the sense current is present when the ignition is off. You have three alternator wires. Two are the ground and charge current lines and one, a lighter gauge, is the sense. If you have voltage there when your ignition is off you have...
The only way to be sure is to buy a vacuum gauge. Not cheap but you can isolate the problem with certainty. I did and it turned out to be the head to pump hose. Fun half day for three people to change 14 feet of hose!
Agree, but if you look at the picture I linked, this one is not like that. I have ordered a 54124 so we'll see what gives...
PS: Received blower yesterday. Fan body identical but motor longer so won't fit.
The fan is a Mayfair Marine Model 54121. The nearest I can find on line with the same 112CFM spec is a Mayfair 54124. It looks almost identical except I can't tell whether the hose goes inside or outside the mounting tube. Has anyone replaced theirs and can tell me before I buy one and adapt...
My galley extractor fan is starting to squeal. I suspect it is mounted just above the vent but I can't figure out how to get to it.
Anyone know where it is and how to access it?
If you are referring to the acoustic sensor then, yes, I have one on my holding tank. I had to use a "focus tube" but it works perfectly. My tanks are too thick for the external sensor type gauges. I tried them all.
I have a 96 420AC, 3kw Xantrex, 6 Lifeline AGM 6v 220AHr batteries, 2 140W Kyocera Solar panels and a Morningstar MPPT controller. Two 110V lines are wired from the panel through the inverter and back to the panel. The inverter and batteries are mounted under the port side sofa and vents into...
I keep a whole pump as as a spare and when I do a repair I install the whole pump. Then I renovate the old one by disassembling the pump in its entirety (easy, takes 5 minutes) and soaking it in a bucket of dilute muriatic acid to remove all scale. Install new duck bills and bellows (if...
Well, from his second post I can't tell whether he was saying he didn't believe either of you or not. Only he can do that. I guess that's what I am really trying to say. I just took it as constructive discussion. You both took it differently. So be it.
Maybe I am missing something. I reread the first few posts and I didn't detect "attitude" from Farwellbooth. I did read him questioning the advice based on his observation that only one gauge fogs. Is that attitude? Seems like healthy questioning and conversation to me.
If there was...
Calculated hull speed does not yield the smallest possible wake. I know you know that. Idle speed does if you want to maintain control. I find that idle speed on my 42 does not give me much control as my rudders are very small in area. I suspect your 55 is much the same but at a higher...
