Pull it out of that mounting bracket and look all over it. I've never seen a capacitor yet that didn't have the mfd value stamped on it. If there are no markings on it then I have no idea how to determine it's rating/value. Maybe an electrician could help you with that. Good luck.

If the breaker is immediately tripping that often indicates a dead short somewhere.

Before starting to change any parts......apply the K.I.S.S. principle first.......look for a reset button on your water heater.....mine has one.....yours might as well. good luck.

If I'm understanding correctly......all your systems are still working properly? And you've just lost your LED indicator lights? If that's the case.....then it seems to me you simply....somehow.....through the circuitry lost your power to those indicator lights. Or by some freak...

That little round thing looks like a thermal overload. Was it by chance clipped to the side of the compressor? Has a little disc on the flat side that heats up and bends and breaks the circuit until it cools down...straightens back out....and makes the circuit again. High amperage draw trips it.
