Bought my 340 Sundancer new in August 2006. My boat is used in a freshwater lake and is docked under cover.
About a month ago MM replaced my windlass EIM box because my windlass would not operate from the helm (but would operate by bow foot pedals). Recently we went out and, lo and behold...
9/30/2009 - Park Marina tells me that normal access to to docks will still not take place for a couple of weeks!
Although water is being released through the dam, there was even more rainfall at the lake last week and after the flooding period.
A friend and dockmate drove to the marina...
I bought this when we purchased our new 2006 340.
I am not the type of person who normally buys extended warranties or over-insures anything, but I think I am glad I bought this. I have had to use this a few times over the last 2 and 1/2 years and I would not be surprised that issues will...
Based on my minor research, I can assume our charging systems O.K. for the ASM batteries?
I read that these batteries have to have more specific battery charging systems to function properly and for longevity.
Thanks again.
I would appreciate your recommendations for replacing of all 4 batteries in my 2006 340 Sundancer. Admittedly, I am somewhat battery-naive.
ALL deep cycle or 2 starter/2 deep cycle?
"Wet", "gel", and/or "ASM"?
Group sizes?
Thank you!
Dear SeaRay Employee:
Do you know if the battery charger system that is part of the 2006 340 Sundancer is a "safe" system that will not overcharge a battery if using shore or generator power?
Any chance of this battery charging system causing battery acid to exit batteries and get into...
I have some battery acid/water mixture that has splashed into my bilge area adjacent to the batteries.
I did top off my battery cells with distilled water last weekend, and, for the most part, did not overfill them.
Do you think the battery acid solution in the bilge is just a result of...
Mike:
In 2005, we moved up from a 215 Searay to a 2006 280 with twin 4.3 220 HP. We loved the boat and thought it was a great change but.......
A new friend at the dock had a new 320. As soon as we experienced this boat and it's wider beam, we thought our 280 was too small.
In 2006, we...
Really does look nice, John.
My canvas guy is out at my boat as we speak to begin my new 2006 340 Sundancer camper canvas! I can't wait (neither can our golden retriever with heavy coat)!
John
Thanks again everyone.
However, I am "used to" the occasional alarm when getting close to the marina entrance/exit structure, the occasional debis that is probably under the boat, etc.
This time, it was occuring much more frequently and in open water.
Everything's Irie - I see you also...
Thank you, Lazy Daze.
Morpheus - I know where you are coming from. I grew up on Tampa Bay (Beach Park Isles), and when I was a teen ran-a-ground a couple of 15 foot tri-hulls with 40 HP Johnson Outboards a few times back in the old days!!! (my step-father about murdered me!).
John
The depth display is on the Smartcraft display that came with my new 2006 340.
I boat on a freshwater lake. Water temp reading on Sunday was 74F.
Never had this problem before. Only "problem" with this has been very temporary in nature, i.e., when getting close to the marina entrance/exit...
Last Sunday was our first opportunity to really run fast our 2006 340 on the lake.
While navigating out of our marina at idle speed, my depth finder was working fine. However, when I throttled up to get the boat on plane, the depth finder started to show zero to three foot depth readings and...
I, too, have a 2006 340.
As Hampton stated, definitely read his posts and the corresponding posts regarding this subject.
You have to go custom on our boat. Last Friday, I initiated the services of a custom canvas guy who is very well-respected on our lake. I am having a "cantilever"...
