I have a 2000 240 with a 5.7 Bravo ll drive and we have spent many hours in Washington and Canada. Depending on loading, winds, and seas, some use of the tabs is required and have not experienced the "tippy" feeling at all. Also, depending on conditions, 3200-3300 rpm produces 25-28 mph with...
Doug, Like Todd I have always had a good experience with Lake Union SR. Thanks for the heads up on the water and tablets. Hadn't thought of that one and in the past have had water issues even without the drought we are having...Tom
Fantastic! You really had the weather and beautiful photos too. We were supposed to leave today (Friday) for a very similar itinerary but we had engine issues last week at Sea Fair and Lake Union SR still has the boat. Hoping to leave Monday or Tuesday now if they get it fixed...Tom
I have towed my 240da with a Chevy 2500HD 4X4 for five years. Short trips with flat ramps no problem. There were many times that if I didn't have 4 wheel drive I would have never recovered the boat on slippery or steep ramps. Longer trips...I wish I had a diesel 4X4. Summer temps are hard on...
John, just left ANC yesterday after delivering the raffle airplane for the aviation trade show this weekend. If you have time, go to the Fed EX hanger at international this weekend for the show. Should be fun. Saw some F-15's flying around, might have been you. Agree with all the above post...
Certainly an individual thing but...A few years ago I put my 17 yr. old son in a 747-400 sim and after an hour he was flying a VFR pattern and making pretty good takeoffs and landings. He had very recently finished his private checkride.
Gary, not quite true. I got the t-shirt. Chapter 11 is first and it's reorganization. All the union contracts are up for negotiation, the only thing is the unions have a gun at their heads. Agree to this or it's liquidation, Chapter 7. So everyone hudles, swears at each other and the judge...
Don't get me wrong. I love Sundancers but I was just thinking about winter boating and the open aft area or damp/wet canvas. When the kids were young a sedan seemed to work better for us.

I agree with "four suns" with an additional reason. This IS the Pacific Nortwest and if you want to enjoy boating from Oct to May you will need the warm dry area.
Drama Queen,
We have 665 hrs on our 2000 240da with 90 per cent in salt water and have only done routine maintenance, which I do myself. It is on a trailer and I know that helps but 340 hrs is not a problem if you know the maintenance and get the survey.
Just my humble opinion,
Tom
TurtleTone,
This has no doubt been discussed somewhere here before but I missed it. I'm looking at an 03 280 with the T4.3's and wanted to know if you were happy with the performance. I've been out on the T5.0 280 but not the 4.3's. Thanks for your comments...
Todd,
Wonderful pictures. Memories and experiences most of us can only dream of. Now you must make some for your own children and no doubt you will. Good luck with the new 260. It was fun to follow the saga....Tom
